Everybody Loves a Winner
The Vagabonds Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Once I had fame
Oh I was full of pride
Had lots of friends
Always here right by my side
Well my fame oh it died
Now my friends all try to hide

Everybody loves a winner
Everybody loves a winner
But when you lose, you lose alone

Everywhere I turned
There was a hello and smile
I never thought
They'd be gone after a while
Well my friends let me down
And the smiles turned to frowns

Everybody loves a winner
Everybody loves a winner
But when you lose, you lose alone

Once I had love
Ah but I couldn't be true
To get back that love
There ain't nothing I wouldn't do
Well I've loved
And I've lost
And now I'll pay the cost

Everybody loves a winner
Everybody loves a winner

Everybody loves a winner
But when you lose, you lose alone

Overall Meaning

The Vagabonds' song "Everybody Loves a Winner" talks about the fleeting nature of fame, friendship, and love. The lyrics reveal the singer's despair as he reflects on his former life of glory when he was famous, had a huge following, and many friends. But now that his fame has dwindled, so have his friends. His once exuberant friends have disappeared, leaving him isolated and alone. He mourns over the fact that his past life of fame now seems like an illusion, something that has faded away with time.

The song's lyrics have a poignant meaning, as they explore the concept of life's ups and downs. When everything is going well, people flock to be with the successful and famous. But when things go sour, they often disappear. The singer comes to the realization that everybody wants to be around people who are successful, but once things go south, everybody bails. The song is a reflection of how people in life relate with the famous, the successful, and those that are not. It is a reminder that true friendship stands the test of time.

Things they could have talked about:
- His technique
- His footing
- His grip
- Ninja/samurai arsenal
- His "armor"
- Way of the ninja/samurai and how they differ
- How hard it is to cut clean thru
- Is sekiro more of a ninja or a samurai?

This could of made a crazy amazing video on the history of samurai and ninja and how it compares to sekiro, it just seemed like they were watching gameplay and commentating thats all

I was hoping they'd talk about mikiri counter cause I'd love to know an expert's opinion on the action of stepping on a sword in order to deflect or stop the attack

Corrupted

@DEEP BJE Posture is just stamina and focus, the idea in the game is that you mentally or physically fatigue your opponent to a point where they couldn't block/react to a lethal blow anymore, so yeah it's basically a part of any type of close combat, from fighting with your fists to any weapon

"He's blocking in a stationary position and not moving."

I don't think in any way shape or form you could succeed in blocking a 20 foot tall ape with a sword.

FREBSNFREMSN

He is on that Bruce Lee shit. He is being like water. Just if water could hold a katana.

Don’t blink

@Electro Shock I’d say the only way I could think of is if you have an odachi (great sword katana) and stuck the tip in the ground whole crouching allowing the downward strike to skate down your blade to the ground
