To this day, they continue to tour rapidly all over the world, even with Rat splitting his time between them and Discharge. They shared a headlining spot with such acts as Broken Bones, The Adicts, Vice Squad and GBH at the ill-fated British Invasion 2k6 concert festival in San Bernardino, California which ended in mass-rioting and alleged police brutality.
They are currently writing new material for a new album to be released in the near future.
Genocide
The Varukers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Mad dog of war has raised its ugly face
Death and destruction is all around
Human corpses litter the ground
Genocide
Women and children deaf and the blind
Cravings of a lunatic make more sense to me
Than all the world leaders and their war policies
The Varukers' song "Genocide" is a powerful protest anthem that deals with the human cost of war and its disastrous aftermath. The opening lines of the song set a bleak, apocalyptic mood as the sun sets on the human race and the madness of war takes hold, symbolized by the mad dog of war raising its ugly face. The lyrics go on to describe the death and destruction that is all around, with human corpses littering the ground. The refrain of "Genocide" is repeated like a mantra, underscoring the horror of the situation.
As the song continues, the focus shifts to the human toll of war in terms of its impact on women and children, who are often the most vulnerable victims. The destruction wrought by war is described as total, with an almost biblical sense of condemnation. The contrast between the "cravings of a lunatic" and the world leaders who authorize war is starkly drawn, with the former seeming to make more sense than the latter. Ultimately, the song presents a damning critique of war and its practitioners, calling for an end to the violence and suffering.
