The Wandering Hearts have released one studio album: Wild Silence (February 9, 2018). This album includes songs such as Wish I Could, Devil, and Burning Bridges.
The Wandering Hearts' genesis arose in late 2015 when Tara Wilcox and Tim Prottey-Jones met at a gig they were both separately performing at. Between the two, there was immense experience in the field, with Prottey-Jones having worked extensively as a multi-instrumental session musician and in musical theatre, and Wilcox having years of singing experience as well as her own singing school. Shortly after meeting, Prottey-Jones and Wilcox were put in touch and introduced by mutual friends to A.J. Dean, a singer/guitarist who was a former member of the U.K. rock band the Bluejays; and Chess Whiffin, who is also a former musical theatre performer. Having first rehearsed a song written by Prottey-Jones at his apartment, the group immediately hit it off. Initially calling themselves the Paper hearts, they recorded two demos titled: Today Is Ours and Sunshine. Both were uploaded to SoundCloud and received a quick response of interest. Within a few weeks, they auditioned for Decca Records who signed them on the spot. The group, now renamed to The Wandering Hearts, released their debut single Wish I Could in early 2017, and began to perform at numerous festivals around the UK. Following the release of their debut album, Wild Silence, the group continued to grow and flourish, including a performance in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry in 2018.

Would we land [?]
If we shook apart the pillow
Would we still meet walls
Rattle my cage and rattle my bones
Rattle my windows, crumbling stone
Rattle my cage and rattle my bones
Shout a little louder just to wake me
Pull me from my slumber and...
Take everything we know
And pull it apart
And make everything go slow
We're stopping to start...
Again
If we took a single moment
Just to talk it through
Could we still be facing forward
And still see in through
Rattle my cage and rattle my bones
Rattle my windows, crumbling stone
Rattle my cage and rattle my bones
Rattle my windows, crumbling stone
Shout a little louder just to wake me
Pull me from my slumber and...
Take everything we know
And pull it apart
And make everything go slow
We'll stop and just start...
Again
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
I can hope
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Take everything we know
And pull it apart
And make everything go slow
We'll stop and just start...
Take everything we know
And pull it apart
And make everything go slow
We'll stop and just start...
Stop and just start...
Again
The Wandering Hearts' "Rattle" is a contemplative and introspective song that asks a lot of questions about starting over and taking risks. Through the use of vivid imagery, the song describes the feeling of being trapped and enclosed within oneself and one's surroundings. The lyrics evoke a sense of restlessness and a yearning for change, as the singer wonders whether taking a leap of faith and shaking things up would lead to a new beginning or a dead end.
The repeated refrain of "Rattle my cage and rattle my bones, Rattle my windows, crumbling stone" adds to the song's sense of urgency and unease, as if the singer is trying to break out of their confinement and reach something beyond their grasp. The verses continue this theme, with lines like "If we shook apart the pillow, Would we still meet walls" and "Take everything we know, And pull it apart, And make everything go slow, We're stopping to start...Again" emphasizing the idea of breaking down barriers and starting anew.
Overall, "Rattle" is a song that speaks to the human desire for change and growth, and the courage it takes to step out of one's comfort zone and take a leap of faith.
