TWS have not looked back from that moment. They have enjoyed performances across the continent, from folk festivals to concert halls to full symphonic backing, they have been on national and international TV and radio shows, they have five recordings, three Juno nominations, three videos (all of which received full play on CMT) and Best Group award in the folk category of the Prairie Music Awards. They have also been included on numerous compilations and have been hired to write and record theme music for video and TV shows. Much of their music, such as 'Warrior', 'The Faucet', 'Farewell to Clayoquot Sound' and 'Leave a Little Light' has been covered, recorded and sung by performers and choirs from across the globe.
The Wyrd Sisters have, like any family (and long time band), changed and evolved and grown over the years. Original founding member, principal writer and lead stage personality Kim Baryluk has remained the constant thoughout the band's existence. Like groups such as 'Sweet Honey in the Rock' and 'The Flirtations,' where members have come and gone over the decades, the band continues to create the same beautiful music and carry the same inspirational message as it always has.
International critics have recognized the original sound The Wyrd Sisters have created with a fusion of folk/jazz/pop/blues as being a uniquely Canadian sound which sets the standard for up and coming singer/songwriters.
Skin
The Wyrd Sisters Lyrics

I want to tell you something
I want you to sit back, close your eyes and think about this:
I want you to look at this thing we do
this living
and the vast complicated world we live in
and the joy and suffering we experience
there's so much to learn
and we're just too short on time
and we're too short on knowledge
think of your skin
in our skin it's too easy to feel how small and insignificant we are
I want to tell you what I've learned about skin
who we are within and without of this skin
I want to tell you about the blessing and the beauty of skin
the curse and the crime of it
let me tell you what I know about the secret of skin:
skin is a roadmap of our lives
every freckle is a footprint
and every scar is a snapshot of a point along our journey
our skin is unique to us
its colour and scent
its solace and safety
think about the dips, the valleys and the pleasures of it
in giving, in receiving and knowing
but we think our skin separates us from each other and from god
in our darker moments we fear that this shell that holds our spirits is also our prison
if we can't understand the secret of skin we're just like a dog who's only known a short rope
and we sniff the air around our small worlds and snarl at those who walk too close
in the confines of this, our skin, we forget who we are and think we're something we're not:
alone
separate
isolated
but we're not alone
we're part of each other
we're part of the world, the universe and beyond
within us, without us and through us, we belong
so if there's one thing we need to know and only one thing
please believe this:
we are here for a purpose
know that you are here for a reason
know that you have a right to be here
you have a right to belong
you have a right to speak, to breathe, to sing, to pray, to cry, to love, to shout out your hope and despair
to reach out to others, to give, to receive, to know:
there is a beauty in you
a beauty that is unique only to you
and that you have gifts to offer this world that no one else has
that you have a light within yourself that shines as bright as any star
and know that if you remove yourself from this, the whole
we all become that much smaller
so celebrate the skin
celebrate yourself
celebrate the world
know that your skin is here to allow you to feel the hands you reach out to hold
The Wyrd Sisters's song "Skin" is a powerful track that encourages listeners to reflect on the significance and complexity of the human experience. The song begins with a call to attention, as the singer implores listeners to close their eyes and ponder the vastness of the world and the myriad of human emotions we encounter. She then seeks to explore the role of skin in our lives as a tangible marker of our experiences, likening it to a "roadmap" of our journeys. Every freckle, every scar, every sensation etched onto our skin carries with it a story that makes us who we are, and connects us to the larger universe.
As the song progresses, it delves deeper into the relationship between our individual selves and the world at large. The singer notes that we can sometimes feel trapped in our own skin, viewing it as a barrier that separates us from others and from God. However, she reminds us that we are all interconnected, part of a larger whole that spans beyond our flesh and bones. By embracing our uniqueness and celebrating what makes us different, we can find our place in the world and make it a brighter, more joyful place for all.
Overall, "Skin" is a song that emphasizes the importance of empathy, compassion, and self-love in a world that can often feel overwhelming and isolating. By acknowledging the power of our experiences and our physical selves, we can forge stronger connections with others and better understand our place in the universe.

@Shad0wSpill
The dialogue in this is literally word for word from the book, and not a single page missing.
Every scene, every movement and inflection is exactly as written.
The witches are exactly as I pictured them, and the rest of the characters are spot on.
This film has got to be - hands down - the most faithful adaptation of a novel in existence.
@Abelhawk
That's slightly hyperbolic, but you're not far off. It's amazingly faithful.
@justjane2070
BBC version of Pride and Prejudice 😊
@KaiserAfini
"A witch doesn't know the meaning of failure"
"Esmy, it means lack of success"
That was so perfectly timed, it made me laugh out loud.
@gibbbon
love how the three witches incarnate different versions of the concept of a witch
the classical stern witch, old knowledge and complex spells, that demand respect
the rural midwife witch, all sorts of potions, take care of people, who knows everyone
the "new age" witch, multi-disciplinary, all sorts of trinkets and charms and fairytale like
@jonawolf8023
@@gibbbon the witchs are based on the legend of the 3 woman. The virgin, the mother and the old lady. One represents youth and innocence, the second life and pleasure. And the other, she is asociatet whit dead.
