Who Knows
Therapy? Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've wasted my time trying to figure out
Who you are, what you're on, what you're all about
This is no time to say maybe
This is the time to get heavy

Who knows what goes on in that head of yours?
Knows what goes on in that head of yours?
Knows what goes on sometimes?

It's a festered, fucked up sign of the times
When you look at the teeth and not at the eyes
You'll knock yourself out in Hollywood
It's hard to see your soul when it's down your throat

Who knows what goes on in that head of yours?
Knows what goes on in that head of yours?
Knows what goes on sometimes?

First on the bottle, and last on the pills
All this good health is making you ill
You're a model, actress, anything
You're a fucked up loser nobody

Who knows
Who knows

Who knows what goes on in that head of yours?
Knows what goes on in that head of yours?
Knows what goes on

Who knows what goes on in that head of yours
Knows what goes on in that head of yours
Knows what goes on, sometimes
Sometimes
Sometimes

Sometimes
Yeah

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Therapy?'s song "Who Knows" offer a commentary on the pitfalls of modern society and the struggle to find genuine connections amidst the superficiality of Hollywood culture. The first stanza paints a picture of frustration and uncertainty, as the singer admits to wasting time trying to understand someone who remains enigmatic and difficult to read. The next stanza is more blunt, describing the current state of society as a "festered, fucked up sign of the times", where people are more concerned with appearances than with genuine human interactions. The third stanza discusses the downside of pursuing a life in the entertainment industry, where good health often takes a backseat to drugs and alcohol, and where the pursuit of fame can leave someone feeling like a "fucked up loser nobody".

Overall, the song expresses a sense of disillusionment with the current state of things, and a desire for something more meaningful and authentic. The repeated refrain of "who knows what goes on in that head of yours" highlights the theme of uncertainty and the difficulty we all face in truly understanding one another. The song suggests that although we may feel lost and adrift in a shallow and uncertain world, we can still strive for something better.

Good Day Everyone,

Lately, I’ve been feeling really moody, and I feel like no one understands me.

I’m under a lot of stress, and I just want to be able to vent to someone in a healthy and positive way.

I’m not necessarily a believer when it comes to therapy, but I’m willing to try it. I know once I conquer my demons, I’ll be able to do a lot of great things and give back to others.

Are there any apps or is there anything that anyone recommends doing?

Thank you and stay blessed. 🙏
