Noticing that society values division, even though it harms the greater good.

How we declare such hopeful words and neglect the effect of mass appeal!
Observing that people often spread hopeful words without considering the potential negative consequences of mass appeal.

I don't want to be a critic, but counterfeit faith must be unveiled.
Acknowledging the importance of exposing fake expressions of faith.

Observe the ones around you. Observe the life you live.
Encouraging people to look at their environment and their personal lives.

This is a city of dead religion, and we are its lifeless citizens.
Highlighting that society is spiritually dead and people are not living in alignment with their faith.

We're so quick to blame our weaknesses on demons, as if not a trace of our
Noticing that people often evade responsibility for their weaknesses by blaming demons.

Flesh is at fault.
Acknowledging that the human body is as much at fault as demons are believed to be.

We twist this beautiful redemption in Christ into illogical entitlement, the nightmare
Observing that people take advantage of Christ's redemption by believing they are entitled to it without merit.

Called divine favor.
Highlighting the concept of divine favor.

Innate goodness does not exist on the earth. We must quit speaking like God
Stating that there is no such thing as inherent goodness and people should not speak like they are entitled to it.

Owes us.
Reminding people that God is not indebted to them.

We can only crawl lower and lower into the depths of our depravity.
Noticing that society is stuck in a downward spiral towards depravity.

Only God can rescue.
Reaffirming that only God can save society from its descent into depravity.

Only Christ can save.
Reaffirming that only Christ can save humanity.

When will we learn that we can't legislate conviction, nor is there a sales
Observing that people are not able to force others to believe or buy into something.

Pitch to learn and perfect?
Questioning if there is a way to make people learn and perfect their ways.

Aren't we witnesses to what we have seen?
Reminding people to be honest with themselves and speak the truth.

Speak honestly.
Encouraging people to speak honestly.

Do I view grace in the lens of a trend?
Asking whether people interpret grace as a trend or genuine.

Do I wear the cross as fashionable?
Asking whether people wear the cross as a fashion statement or as a symbol of their faith.

Let us be more than transient followers.
Encouraging people to be more than just temporary followers of their faith.

Break our will to depend on Yours.
Asking God to help people break their dependence on their own will and instead rely on His will.

Break our will.
Asking God to break people's will to depend on their own desires and instead rely on His will.

Step back out of your selfish fervor. The light has become the darkness.
Encouraging people to abandon selfishness and recognize that their actions have led to the destruction of the world.

We're not the shining city on a hill we thought we'd be, consistently authentic
Noticing that people were not able to live up to their own expectations and be consistently authentic.

In being fake to please.
Observing that people often act fake to please others.

If seeking truth is not our motive, then what has taken its place?
Asking what has replaced a genuine search for the truth if it is no longer people's motive.

I plead with you to examine your hearts, citizens.
Urging people to examine their hearts and be honest with themselves.
