Roommates
This Mess Is Mine Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Talking like we used to do
It was always me and you
Shaping up and shipping out
Check me in and check me out

Do you like walking in the rain?
When you think of love, do you think of pain?
You can tell me what you see
I will choose what I believe

Hold on, darling
This body is yours,
This body is yours and mine
Well hold on, my darling
This mess was yours,
Now your mess is mine

Your mess is mine

See you in the marketplace
Walking 'round at 8am
Got 2 hours before my flight
Luck be on my side tonight

You're the reason that I feel so strong
The reason that I'm hanging on
You know you gave me all the time
Oh, did I give enough of mine?

Hold on, darling
This body is yours,
This body is yours and mine
Well hold on, my darling
This mess was yours,
Now your mess is mine

Bring me to your house
Tell me sorry for the mess
Hey, I don't mind
You're talking in your sleep
Out of time
Well, you still make sense to me
Your mess is mine

Your mess is mine

This body's yours and this body's mine
Your mess is mine

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Roomates" by This Mess Is Mine depicts a relationship between two people who have gone through tough times together. The first verse sets up the scene of two people talking like they used to do when everything between them was great. The lyrics mention shipping out, indicating that things have changed between them, and perhaps they have gone their separate ways. The second line is quite important and implies that no matter the distance, they were always together, and their memories will stay with each other forever.

The chorus repeats the phrase "This body is yours, This body is yours and mine" which portrays the deep, emotional connection they share. The next verse talks about meeting unexpectedly, "See you in the marketplace," giving the idea of an opportunity for them to rekindle their relationship. The lyrics reveal the underlying love and strong bond between them: "You're the reason that I feel so strong, The reason that I'm hanging on."

The bridge reflects their closeness - they don't mind each other's mess and imperfections as they are one in this relationship. The lyrics of "Roommates" confirms that their mess is one and the same, and they share everything, problems and all. The song is a sentimental reminder of the importance of holding onto the ones you love and the strength you can draw from each other.

That grose juice stuff is what I like to call "Ramen Water"

I recently learnd the hard way that when the instructions say to poor boiling water in the Ramen,
it explodes in the microwave if you try.
The water not the microwave it's self.

So I was told to just poor the water in the ramen & then microwave it.

I spent an hour trying to cook that romen & in the end my mom brought home pizza.

Hope this helps other who never made ramen before.
