Don't Make Me Wait
This World Fair Lyrics

And all this time, how did you know that
I'd be here
I'd be here
I'd be here
In this world all alone
So don't make me wait, honey
Don't hesitate now, honey
Or it will all fall down
Angel eyes, why do you gaze?
Everytime I lose my way
You find me here
Find me here
Find me here
Find me here
So don't make me wait, honey
Don't make me say it out loud
Don't hesitate now honey
Or it will all fall down
Don't make me wait now, honey
Don't make me say it out loud
Don't hesitate now, honey
Or it will all fall down
All fall down
Don't make me wait, honey
Don't make me say it out loud
Don't hesitate now, honey
Or it will all fall down
The song "Don't Make Me Wait" by This World Fair is a ballad of longing for companionship and understanding in a world that can often leave people feeling isolated and alone. The lyrics begin with the singer addressing someone with "angel eyes," someone who has been there for them in moments of confusion and who knows them intimately. The singer expresses the fear of being left alone in a world that can seem indifferent and uncaring. They plead with the person with whom they are speaking to not make them wait for a connection, to not hold back, and to not hesitate because if they do, everything will fall apart.
The chorus "Don't make me wait, honey, don't make me say it out loud," repeats this plea for connection and intimacy, with the singer expressing a reluctance to put their feelings into words, as if verbalizing their deepest desires would make them too real and too vulnerable. The final line "Or it will all fall down," cements the fear of the singer, that if this connection and understanding is not established, everything will crumble and collapse.
The song highlights the human desire for connection and the fear of isolation. It speaks to the importance of being seen and heard, and to the courage it takes to pursue intimacy and vulnerability. The melancholic but hopeful melody and vocals add to the emotional depth of the lyrics, creating a moving and relatable song.

This song and movie somehow give me such a epic combo of feelings, like a deep sadness that I've grown up and times are not the same but also a calming/exciting nostalgia. Who's still rocking this song in 2021?!?;
