This song became the theme song of the Sunn Classic Pictures And Television film and TV series, The Life And Times Of Grizzly Adams. The program starred Dan Haggerty as James Capen Adams, who had fled from false murder charges into the mountains and forest nearby. The made-for-television film The Capture Of Grizzly Adams, which starred Haggerty and also featured "Maybe" as its theme, finally showed Adams successfully clearing his name.

Pace had originally intended the song "Maybe" for a movie called The Snow Tigers, but ultimately the producers did not use it in that film. It was later used as the last song in the Grizzly Adams movie, and was then used as the theme song in the TV series.

Another version, the theme from an album that Pace recorded and released in the 1970s, was released as a single in Europe. "Maybe" went to number one in Germany and stayed there for nine weeks. Pace received the "Goldene Europa" Award, Europe's version of the Grammy Award for Best Song of 1979. He also wrote and composed, often in collaboration with Maria Hegsted, songs for other films including the NBC 'Movies of the Week', Vestige Of Honor and Night Of The Comet.

Pace continues to remain involved with music, and he now lives in North Idaho. He is usually regarded as a one-hit wonder.

Kaca. Thanks for the lyrics for this long-forgotten song. And also for the perfect grammar included in those lyrics you provided. Something was missing when I watched the Grizzly Adams clip on You Tube. It was politics. There was no one arguing about the man-bear relationship. No protests. No people out on the streets with placards demanding he discontinues his contact with the rescued animal. Do you know why? Because life was simpler back then, when this programme was made. I remebmer a time when we could just sit back and enjoy the things on the telly and not analzse the content. Kung Fu was another favourite of mine. Thanks for the memories.

I remember loving this show so much in the 80's.. I remember getting off the school bus every day and playing with my friends, my mother would call out to me everyday around 4 o'clock and I'd come running back to the house to sit and watch Grizzly Adams, Mash, The A-Team and the Incredible Hulk. My favorite was always Grizzly Adams.. hearing that song just now washed away all of the everyday stresses and pressures that life puts on all of us. Man oh man did that bring me back to my childhood.

He was my childhood hero. I wanted to be him and live in the woods with my own Gentle Ben. When I found out he was arrested for drugs, it crushed me as a child. I refused to have anything to do with him or the show after that. I will be 53 in 3 months and it hurt watching this. My heart started to race and my anxiety kicked in. God bless childhood trauma.

To me this is a beautiful anthem that resonates with a deep and sorrowful sentiment that I have felt since I was in my teens. Why is there so much horror in this world? The way people are treated, the way many animals are abused and destroyed? Sometimes I think humankind is a malignant tumor in this rock...so much fear, so much anger and hate, envy and lying (why is it necessary to lie to even survive?) Very true. I also grew up in the 70s and 80s and if I could turn back time I would in a heart beat. I miss the serenity! I also will not ever forget better times as they are forever woven in my heart :)

The Dark Knight you know why? We didn't have smartphones and a lot of that technology then. So our imaginations and songs like these filled out hearts with warmth.

I want this played at my funeral. I cry when hearing this haunting song. My late, dear husband loved this song. I made a terrible mistake and he killed himself. The worst decision of my life..Can't help but cry. I hope in the afterlife I'm forgiven.

I was only a few years old when this series came out but my father loved it and we would watch repeats of it and Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom during the 80s.
