Thorax povstal z popela nevěřících a slabých kapel, aby sjednotil a upevnil svou sílu a mohl ukout pěkně tvrdý a ryzí kov.

Thorax vznikl oficiálně 1.1.2012, i když plánování bylo delší. Zůstaňme proto u tohoto oficiálního data pro lepší počty :)
Přestože se jedná o zcela nové uskupení, kapela není úplným nováčkem. Thorax totiž vznikl spojením muzikantů z jiných kapel které se buď rozpadly, ukončily činnost, nebo z nich muzikanti odešli do Thoraxu a hledá se za ně náhrada :)
Po cca 6 měsících od ustálení sestavy nahrál Thorax tří-písňové demo s názvem Kletba, kterým se představil publiku na bandzone a jinde na internetu..
Koncertní debut si však kapela odbyla až v prosinci, vzhledem k výměně bubeníka, která během léta nastala. Koncert dopadl dobře, a tak ještě během Vánoc Thorax zahrál na jednodenním festivalu v Dobříši.
V dubnu 2013, po dlouhých přípravách, zavřel se Thorax na 9 dní do studia a vynořil se s první regulérní deskou - Proč Věštírny Mlčí. Během natáčení pořídil i videoklip a obojímu zároveň se dostalo koncertního křestu v polovině května.
Od května kapela koncertuje, propaguje desku a v mezičasech rozpracovává nové skladby..
