It's Not the Things You Say
Tiësto Lyrics

Held you till morning, and Kissing your eyes.
Remembering your lips, When we first kissed,
and the beat my heart, 'my heart, it skipped.
It's not the things you say, Not the things you say ooh oh,
That bind me to you.
It's not the things you say, Not the things you say ooh oh,
That matter.
Our tears were glistening, Haunted your soul
If I could just hold you, Oh for the last time
I'd scare off those demons, And dry up your eyes
It's not the things you say, Not the things you say
That bind me to you
And it's not the things you say, Not the things you say
That matter.
In my mind
I can feel you coming,
In my mind
I can feel you near
In my mind
I can feel you coming,
Haunting me
In my mind
I can feel you coming,
In my mind
I can feel you near
In my mind
I can feel you coming,
Haunting me
It's not the things you say, Not the things you say
That bind me to you.
And it's not the things you say, Not the things you say
That matter
It's not the things you say, Not the things you say
That bind me to you.
And it's not the things you say, Not the things you say
That matter.
I am still waiting
Waiting for you
I am still waiting
Waiting for you.
The lyrics of Tiësto's "It's Not The Things You Say" is clearly about reminiscing about a past relationship. The first verse reflects on the happy and intimate moments they shared together while the second verse talks about the pain and the struggles that they have faced. Despite everything, the singer in the song still longs for the person they used to be with. The repetitive chorus, “It's not the things you say, Not the things you say ooh oh, That bind me to you. And it's not the things you say, Not the things you say ooh oh, That matter," highlight that the words no longer have the same impact as they did before. The singer has realized that it is not the words, but the moments and feelings shared that hold true meaning. The lyrics also dive into the idea of haunted memories and how they can linger on, despite how much time has passed.
Overall, the song's message seems to be about the complexities of past relationships and how much they can shape a person's present and future emotions. It's a reflection of heartbreak and how it can linger on, despite the time passed.

I'm listening to this because I'm a Bloc Party fan and not really a fan of Tiësto's remixes but I have to admit that this is a top notch track.
