Tim Ayre Lyrics

Drop in the ocean
c Breath of fresh air
Waves in slow motion everywhere
Breakfast in Cisco, lunch in Belair Chinotto beneath the moon
ch what an affair.

Caught in a daydream, lost in the view
Paint on the canvas, I couldn't cry if I wanted to.

Modern life, Modern Nothing More than life, More than nothing
Modern life, Modern Nothing More than life, More than nothing

Down by the poolside push back my hair Jump in the deep end the sun doesn't care.

Caught in a daydream lost in the view
Paint on the canvas, I couldn't cry if I wanted to

Modern life, Modern Nothing More than life, More than nothing
Modern life, Modern Nothing More than life, More than nothing

Modern life, Modern Nothing

More than life, More than nothing X6
Modern life, Modern Nothing Modern life, Modern Nothing

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Tim Ayre's song "Modern Life" seem to capture a sense of escapism and carefree living. The first verse paints a picture of a serene and beautiful scene, with images of a drop in the ocean, a breath of fresh air, and waves in slow motion. The mention of breakfast in Cisco and lunch in Belair suggests a luxurious and indulgent experience. The line "Chinotto beneath the moon, what an affair" adds a touch of romance and excitement to the scene.

The second verse continues this dreamlike state, describing being caught in a daydream and feeling lost in the view. The line "I couldn't cry if I wanted to" suggests a sense of contentment and bliss, as if the singer is so overwhelmed by the beauty around them that any negative emotions are impossible to feel.

The chorus, with its repetition of "Modern life, Modern Nothing / More than life, More than nothing," can be interpreted in a few ways. It could be a reflection on the emptiness and superficiality of modern life, suggesting that there is more to life than material possessions and superficial pleasures. Alternatively, it could be a celebration of the simple joys and experiences that make life worth living, emphasizing that even the seemingly mundane aspects of modern life can hold significance and meaning.

Shared this song with my friends at a party the other day. It was midnight and we were talking about how we were when we were 12 and how we are now. It was perfectly timed, making the moment a souvenir I’ll always remember as the moment we truly realised we are adults now. (I’m truly surprised about the numbers of views, was expecting much more, as the song was on the top of the « latest release » category. I love thoses algorithms) good luck for the future, I’ll keep an eye on what you do
