Evil
Timesbold Lyrics

He wears an empty face im told
He walks around and stands in crowds
A stone in the midst of clouds
He lays an empty hand upon
The table you are lying on
And just before you close your eyes
He says, "you can win"
He laid his armour on a child
It was his last act before he died
The child grew up in angry air
But evil knew what will was there
The will to will a man in shame
To rise to his knees again
For evil is in charge of lights
And it's like this when he does it right
He says, "you can win"
The song "Evil" by Timesbold discusses the concept of evil and how it can manifest in unexpected ways. The song begins by highlighting how evil can blend in easily with normalcy, with the first line stating that "evil walks a normal road." The second line adds to this idea by describing how people might not even be aware that they are in the presence of evil because it can wear an "empty face." However, despite its ability to blend in, evil is still present and can be felt by those around it.
The song goes on to describe how evil can seemingly offer words of encouragement, with the lines "he lays an empty hand upon/ the table you are lying on/ and just before you close your eyes/ he speaks a normal calm surprise/ he says, 'you can win.'" This adds another layer to the complexity of evil, as it can be manipulative and offer false hope.
The song then shifts to a story of a child who was given armor by evil. This act of protection, though seemingly benevolent, may have ultimately been harmful, as the child grew up surrounded by anger. Despite this, the lyrics suggest that evil may have had an understanding of what the child needed, with the line "but evil knew what will was there/ the will to will a man in shame/ to rise to his knees again." This highlights the idea that evil is not just about destruction, but can also be about growth and overcoming obstacles.
Overall, the lyrics to "Evil" by Timesbold offer an intriguing examination of evil and its many facets, highlighting its ability to blend in with the ordinary and its potential for both harm and growth.
