Bradshaw Boogie
Tiny Bradshaw Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Well
I′ve got a gal' she′s mighty sweet

She's got bunions on her feet
But that don't mean a thing when she

*Intrumental Break*
When the band starts swinging with a solid jump

*Instrumental break*

She says sit in the corner don′t say a thing

Now she whirls all around
Jumps way back

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Bradshaw Boogie" by Tiny Bradshaw may seem straightforward and lighthearted, but upon closer inspection, they reveal a deeper message. The song tells the story of the singer's love for his "mighty sweet" gal, who has bunions on her feet. Despite this imperfection, he still finds her attractive and charming. The instrumental breaks emphasize the energy and liveliness of their relationship, highlighting the joy they bring each other.

However, when the band starts swinging, the singer's gal tells him to "sit in the corner" and not speak. This line implies that the singer's gal may not be as confident or secure in their relationship as he is. She may feel more comfortable without him drawing attention to her imperfections or may be concerned about how others perceive their relationship. Nevertheless, she dances and twirls around with joy, suggesting that their love is strong enough to overcome any insecurities or doubts.

"rock n roll and rockabilly started at least 5 years before Haley or Presley" Imo the earliest rockabilly on record is "Birmingham Bounce" by Hardrock Gunter on Bam, which was about a year before Haley started making rockers too.
