I was 16 when my grandma passed. I got a old 1970s record player from her. She used to turn it on and clean house every Sunday. She had Johnny cash, CCR, Eagles and a lot more records. I'll never forget this song was used in a commercial for a hospital show and the song was used for a micro-preemie, where they had hope the baby would make it. I had given birth to our daughter about 2 weeks prior to this, and I bawled my eyes out as my daughter was a 2 lb/913 grams micro-preemie born at 26 weeks. As for me, I've always loved Elton John's music, beginning in 1971 or 1972 (I think) when I first heard Crockodile Rock on the radio. I moved to LA 5 or 6 years ago, away from all my family back in Canada, and this song hits in a sore spot for some reason. The loneliness of this city, the ebb and flow... There's something about it here that just feels so... Melancholic all the time. I love it, but it always feels sad here.
