Serenade
To The Throne Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

This is my serenade,
for you alone this was made.
Sorry for the rock, thru your window at night,
But these words are true, that I will recite.

You're starry night beautiful,
not to be locked up, in a cubical.
Uniqueness,
Your simple dress,
& the way you wear your hair,
I love your meekness

Destroy my pride, weakness,
Yah sent me you, why I seek this.
No strings attached, but my heart's are
Can't hold your hand, but my words can
If looks kill you're on a killing spree,
My summer eyes can't even see.

Blinded by you, blinded by you

How we met,
Constructed lives like a movie set.
Love at first sight, with patience
You're gorgeous, don't need corsets,
In black you're so fine, perfect color, divine
You stop time, no rewind,

Better than the girl of my dreams,
It's cause you're real.

Hello Richie, reading your lines I remember living in Great Britain... I was always amazed, that there are officers out on the beat without sidearms-for me this was and still is incomprehensible... Persons, such as these rioters do not deserve to be treated with kid gloves. Great book:Among the hoods. I take off my hat in face to such valour, you and your fellow officers have displayed last year ! God bless all good cops ,where ever they make this world a saver place ! Great serenade!

I first heard this music as a boy in Malaya in the 1950's and loved it immediately. I had assumed that the title referred to some other Elizabeths, (probably the First). It's such a wonderful discovery (at age 77) to learn that it is, in fact, linked to the reigning queen, a wonderful person by all measures.  "Thank you" to all who have helped to broaden my knowledge.

Hi Lionel,

I was also born in Malaya before the 31.8.1957 independence but you're my senior. It's sad that the former Malaya (now modern Malaysia) under the present leadership is going to the dogs.

I've heard this piece before but I did not know the title. I wish to thank George Pollen here for the history. It's such an upbeat piece. Gives me hope when I listen to it repeatedly.

Thanks to the TV ad. this beautiful piece of music has got the revival it truly deserves. I am 63 and I remember it well from the 50`s and I used to think it was the loveliest thing I had ever heard. And you know what? It still is.

Just the most beautiful peice of music, I also have a German CD (LP remake) from the Gunter Kallmann Choir where they sing to it, I heard that so much as a child and reminds me so much of my childhood. Thank you Tesco for reviving it, one of the best things you have ever done :)
