Jim is considered to be the unofficial 6th Traveling Wilbury. He has performed on a number of records with many famous artists and bands as a session drummer, since the early 1970s. and has toured with Pink Floyd and others. He has recorded with even more. He is the guy that influenced Jeff Porcaro as a young man, which in turn made him famous for his drumming. The man is a drumming legend and still going strong at 79.

I earned no points in the comments by mentioning that Dylan is not God, but Tom thought Shakespeare paled in comparison to Bob Dylan, quote from a great interview CBC Jian Ghomeshi Tom Petty 2014 the release of Hypnotic Eye. We all need heroes so let it lie. This to me is the ultimate rock stage performance and I know someone who was there and said it was the perfect storm to organize which I can well believe but the result will be with us forever. Re; Dylan. Yes I think he deserved the nobel prize for literature; he is a surrealist poet and taken as such, also given his influence before and during the Vietnam years on civil rights protests, of course. I also love the poetry of Baudelaire's Fleurs du Mal, literally Flowers of Evil, but as a man he was a total shit. And separating the singer from the song is often problematic. He actually reminds me a bit of Sartre who according to his life long partner Simone de Beauvoir was an incorrigible mythomane, meaning he told a lot of lies about himself, sounds about right re Dylan. And it's easy to look superior when you're busy scowling and not talking to anyone on principle. I would have some kind of breakdown trying to sustain that. Nuff said. Will return to this video to lift my spirits as it always does. Cheers and best wishes in 2020!.

Probably one of the greatest songs ever written and I don't say that lightly. It's a song about us and life and waking up if we have the nerve to do it. Dylan's song and words inspired me back in 67 to do just that. I knew I was asleep in life and Dylan words were talking in the background and letting me know I wasn't alone in the darkness. My favorite line in the song ''Fearing not I'd become My Enemy in the instant that I preached.''
