2. DJ / Producer Atsuo Gutierrez Marengo aka Tom Sawyer, started early in 1988 while still in school, mixing long sessions with his classmates. After getting his college degree in accounting, he starts working full time in radio stations as professional announcer and DJ, and in 1996 he opens his own promoter company.
Being one of the pioneers in the electronic scene, he was recognized at the CICLON ELECTRONIC AWARDS with “Best Radio Show” and “Best Promoter”.
He also became one of the top representatives of the Central American scene, highlighting the local sounds.

As a DJ, his sound has reached many corners, performing at the best clubs in Acapulco, Cancun, Cincinnati, Denver, El Salvador, Ecuador, Costa Rica, tampico, Guatemala, colombia, peru, Chile and Miami, including the worldwide known club Space terrace.
As a producer, he has made over 70 tracks, and already out over 40 all around the world to record labels such as Convert Recording, Distraekt Records, Swift Records, Younan Music, Miami Vinyl, Resurgent Records, Red recordings, Reticent Records and more. His tracks have been played by headliners like John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Tom Stephan, chus n ceballos, Moshic, Saeed, Palash, Ricky stone, Gpal, Blue Amazon, Phil K and Flash Brothers.
In a new fase, Tom Sawyer has developed his own record label “SOUTHRECORDS.COM”. First releases made it to the main charts in stores distributing underground electronic music, and top DJs laying hands on these tracks gave incredible support and great reviews. Also theres a new label exclusively for tom sawyer’s original work called ATSUORECORDS.COM.
Coming soon, Tom Sawyer will release his fist “mix compilation-artist album” under his own record label; this compilation will include his own tracks, remixes and collaborations with local singers. The release will be made first in Latin America, then worldwide.

3. La banda fue formada a finales de 1998 bajo la influencia del punk rock melodico, que en la época cada uno de los primeros integrantes tenían por gusto musical. Bajo los acordes de bandas como millencolin, NOFX, Penywise, y weezer, Tom fue formando un estilo, que por primera vez se mostró al público en la compilación de bandas nacionales e internacionales llamada Neo Travel Kit del sello tropical punk records, haciendo su aporte con la canción Estas, track numero 5 de dicho compilado.
Habiendose abierto un lugar al lado de las bandas que en ese momento figuraban en la escena nacional, Tom fue invitado a numerosos festivales y shows a lo largo del el país, y a especiales en importantes medios como la revista shock y el programa de rock mucha música de el canal City TV. Todo esto le dio a la banda la experiencia necesaria, para aventurarse en el año 2000, a grabar su primer disco con el sello bogotano tropical punk records, álbum que llevó por nombre Aún Mejor.
Con una muy buena respuesta a nivel nacional y una edición para España y la Unión Europea, Aun Mejor se convirtió en una plataforma para dar a conocer la banda a otros niveles en la escena underground. Luego de varios tours por el país la banda sufrió algunas transformaciones en su alineación inicial, dando como resultado la conformación actual. Todo esto sumado a las nuevas influencias musicales de la banda como el hardcore y el metal dio paso al desarrollo y producción de su más reciente álbum titulado Fuerte Unión, siendo este el fiel reflejo de las raíces, convicciones y pensamiento de quienes actualmente integran la banda.

Tomsawyer, actualmente se encuentra comprometido con diferentes causas que conciernen a sus integrantes y la gente que los ha escuchado y seguido a través de este tiempo. Corrientes como la filosofía de la liberación humana y animal, el rechazo a la violencia, la intolerancia y cualquier medio de represión y maltrato por parte de autoridades o grupos de poder, hacen parte del sentimiento que con su música quieren expresar.
La misión es demostrar que hay un camino alterno llamado respeto para hacer frente a estos conflictos, y que hay salidas como la unión, la educación y la denuncia social para solucionarlos.
