All We Got
Tonight Alive Lyrics

I should've seen it from the start
You were never gone in my direction
But you were known for
The coldest heart that ever lived
But I swear I'll make it through
Woah, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
You just bring me down
Now we go on
Can't you leave
You're sleeping till tomorrow
Stay here
We'll find a way to make it work
A way to make the hurt fall away
Cause this is all we got
Let's keep it undiscovered
Just lay here under covers
Laugh it off now
Even though I know
You're gonna break my heart
And tear it right apart
Can't you just pretend to love me
Like there's no one else above me
Woah, oh, oh, oh, oh
I lift you up, I lift you up
Oh, oh, oh
You just bring me down
Now we go on
Can't you leave
You're sleeping till tomorrow
Stay here
We'll find a way to make it work
A way to make the hurt fall away
Down
Now we go on
Can't you leave
You're sleeping till tomorrow
Stay here
We'll find a way to make it work
A way to make the hurt fall away
Down
Now we go on
Can't you leave
You're sleeping till tomorrow
Stay here
We'll find a way to make it work
A way to make the hurt fall away
Cause this is all we got
Cause this is all we got
The song "All We Got" by Tonight Alive appears to be a ballad about a relationship that the singer is still holding onto despite knowing that the other person does not reciprocate the same level of commitment. The lyrics seem to suggest that the person in question has a reputation for having a "cold heart," but the singer remains optimistic that they can make it work. The chorus, "I lift you up, I lift you up, you just bring me down," implies that the relationship is causing more harm than good. However, despite the potential heartbreak, the singer begs for the other person to stay, and promises to find a way to make it work.
The second verse continues to explore the dynamic between the two individuals, with the singer acknowledging that they know they will eventually get hurt. However, they are willing to pretend that love exists between them in order to hold onto what they have, even if it is only temporary. The bridge section is particularly emotional, with the line "Can't you just pretend to love me, like there's no one else above me" showing just how desperate the singer is to maintain the relationship.
All in all, "All We Got" is a poignant reminder that love is not always easy, and that sometimes we have to work hard to keep it alive. The song's message is one of hopefulness in the face of adversity, and the powerful vocals and instrumentation make it a moving tribute to the complexities of human emotion.
