Love Is Here To Stay
Tony Bennett Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The more I read the papers
The less I comprehend
The world and all its capers
And how it soon will end
Nothing seems to be lasting
But that isn't our affair
We've got something permanent
I mean in the way we care

It's very clear our love is here to stay
Not for a year, but ever and a day
The radio and the telephone
And the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies and in time may go
But, oh my dear, our love is here to stay
Together we're going a long, long way
In time the Rockies may crumble
Gibraltar may tumble
They're only made of clay
But our love is here to stay

It's very clear our love is here to stay
Not for a year, but ever and a day
The radio and the telephone
And the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies and in time may go
But, oh my dear, our love is here to stay
Together we're going a long, long way
In time the Rockies may crumble
Gibraltar may tumble

They're only made of clay
But our love is here to stay

Tony brought class and style to so many different generations who simply loved good music. His duets transcended genres and brought us all together. Those who sang with him were given a glimpse into greatness 🙏❤️

Do you hear his incredible voice? It's not possible but there it is! I'm shocked. He's from some other planet, right? He just went up a half step. He can STILL do anything he wants. So musical. I don't get it! He's like 90 here or something. -- MW, I love Diana's sultry sound. She's a jazz singer.

Without a doubt, Tony's voice being unique and throaty, sometimes begin his song with an intro medley, (that a few singers ignore) and Diana being her jazziest best singing some of her favorites in a soulful manner......I love it!

@antonymay3799

Tony Bennett is one of my most favourite male voices to listen, he is the king of cool and as smooth as hell with a voice that could melt the hardest of hearts. Diana Krall is on her way to being amongest the finest female voices in Jazz since Ella Fitzgerald x

@jadezee6316

dont compare anyone to Ella......especially krall..who is good enough...but not in the class of the greats let alone the greatest....

You can have your opinion.. no problem... it's free... but don't try to impose it on others!
