1. Toronto was a Canadian rock band from the late seventies and early eighties who have been compared to Heart and Pat Benatar. They were formed in the late 1970s in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, when singer Annie "Holly" Woods met guitarist Brian Allen. The band's constantly shifting line-up was originally augmented by guitarist/backing vocalist Sharon Alton, keyboardist Scott Kreyer, bassist Nick Costello, and drummer Jimmy Fox.
Their first album, Lookin' for Trouble, was released in 1980, and the title track was a Top 40 hit in Canada. Head On (1981) followed , after which Costello and Fox left the band to be replaced by Gary LaLonde (later of Honeymoon Suite) and Barry Connors (later of Coney Hatch).
This sextet recorded Get It On Credit (1982), with Your Daddy Don't Know perhaps being their best known hit on the 1982 album. Lalonde was then replaced by Mike Gingrich for 1983's Girls' Night Out. This album also received attention, as did the band's Greatest Hits album of 1984.
There were subsequently several exits and entrances in 1984/85, with founding members Allen and Alton leaving, along with drummer Connors. They were replaced by Marty Walsh (guitars), Daryl Alvara (guitars) and Paul Hanna (drums), and the band rechristened themselves Toronto & Holly Woods. In 1985, the re-vamped sextet released their final album, Assault & Flattery. It featured the single New Romance, written by Holly Knight and Anton Fig.
2005 saw Toronto play at Voyageur Days Festival in Mattawa, Ontario, Canada (near North Bay) with other Canadian classic rockers Moxy, Chilliwack, Trooper, Goddo, Killer Dwarfs and Ray Lyell for the 30th anniversary of the release of the debut album by the band Moxy.
2. Toronto is a rock band from Poland, created in 1997 by brothers Sลawek and Darek Zaลeลscy.

(To cover up the first one)
Said and done, nothing you can do
Got your act down pretty well
I know you believe yourself but
Little voice in the back of your mind
Gonna keep you awake at night
(Start telling the, start telling the truth)
It's time to get real
(Start telling the, start telling the truth)
Thought you had it figured out then boom
(They hit you with a big one)
Now you know I'm talkin' 'bout you
Well, I know where you're coming from
Too scared to turn and run
I've worn those shoes before
Running blind you're an open door
(Start telling the, start telling the truth)
Lies lies lies lies
(Start telling the, start telling the truth)
Every little white lie times two
(To cover up the first one)
Said and done, nothing you can do
Thought you had it figured out then boom
They hit you with a big one
(Start telling the, start telling the truth)
It's time to get real
(Start telling the, start telling the truth)
Lies lies lies lies lies
(Start telling the, start telling the truth)
Gonna tell, gonna tell, gonna tell the truth
(Start telling the, start telling the truth)
Gonna tell, gonna tell, gonna tell the truth
(Start telling the, start telling the truth)
Gonna tell the truth
(Start telling the, start telling the truth)
Telling the truth
(Start telling the, start telling the truth)
Lies lies lies lies lies
(Start telling the, start telling the truth)
The lyrics of Toronto's song "Start Tellin' The Truth" appear to be a call to a person who has been living a lie or hiding their true self from the world. The song seems to be inspired by someone who has been caught in a web of lies and is trying to cover it up by telling more lies. The first few lines of the song suggest that this person has been lying multiple times to cover up the original lie. The chorus, "Start telling the truth," is a plea to this person to come clean and be honest about who they are.
The song speaks about the psychological toll of living a lie, the inner voice that keeps you from sleeping at night. The lyrics also suggest that this person thought they had it all figured out, but they were hit with a big revelation that exposed them to the world. The song acknowledges the fear that comes with being exposed, but it also calls out the courage that is required to face the truth.
In conclusion, "Start Tellin' The Truth" is a powerful message for anyone who has been living a lie or hiding their true self from the world. The song is a reminder that honesty is always the best policy, no matter how difficult it may be.

Very underrated Canadian band that should have had a global reach. Holly Woods voice should be something kids need to do today without all the auto tuned bs modern bands do. Great ๐ post!
@cassienorman6275
Exactly what I was thinking too. Very underrated. Screw Kim Mitchell and Tragically Hip. Toronto is way better imo
@streakerdude
I agree! I am embarrassed that The Tragically Hip is out there representing my City of Kingston, and Canada instead of bands like Toronto! Great Canadian band and I donโt typically like female lead singers but she makes it work.
@samhoward4442
I"m a musician and Loved Toronto all my life, never got the chance to see them live... This band makes me proud to be Canadian, Thanks for the Music
@Ahmedcwt
I'm surprised there are not that many live or studio recordings of this amazing band!!
@superfluppe
The chord changes are pretty clever, making it very interesting for Holly Woods to sing to. Her voice is as powerful as ever. And the sound of that guitar solo is gorgeous.
@jackblack9165
They were fighting for a spot in my cassette player with headpins - both great singers
@justdynee
Too Loud Mcleod.
@TheUnforgiven69
Idiot lol As a retired vocalist coach I am able to educate you into understanding Darby Mills is nothing more than a screamer lol To even compare her vocal cords to Holly Woods is a huge mistake. I could say more... but let's just end my reply by me saying "Shut your retard mouth dummy" lol lol loloolool
