1. Total is a British experimental/noise project formed in 1984 by Matthew Bower after the break up of Pure. Originally industrial oriented, Bower received occasional help from members of Ramleh and Ake. But towards the later 1980's the sound became more guitar oriented, and a group was formed which was name Skullflower, which ended Total. In the early 1990's, Matthew brought back the Total name to release his solo music aside from Skullflower. Although almost the releases by the second incarnation of Total are Matthew alone, towards the end he was joined by John Godbert, making Total a duo.

Total Lyrics

Happy to be here
Hearing the breathing come out of your mouth
You're complaining I went home too fast
No one else driving
Everyone dies
I'll turn around
The lyrics in Total's song "So Nice" speaks about the feeling of happiness and contentment in a relationship. The first line, "Close the curtain when the sun comes out," can be interpreted as wanting to block out distractions and the outside world to focus on the present moment with their partner. The second line, "Happy to be here," expresses gratitude and joy for being in that moment with their loved one. The third line, "Hearing the breathing come out of your mouth," suggests the intimacy and closeness shared between the partners as they lie next to each other.
However, the fourth line, "You're complaining I went home too fast," reveals a possible conflict or misunderstanding between the couple. It's unclear why the person went home too fast, but it's clear that the other person was unhappy about it. The next line, "No one else driving," could symbolize the importance of the individual's choices and actions in the relationship. The line "Everyone dies" may show that life is short, so the person wants to cherish their time with their loved one. Finally, the line "I'll turn around" indicates a willingness to make amends and put effort into the relationship.
