READ IF YOU WANT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT'S HAPPENING MUSICALLY IN BEGiNNING* Can you count to the number 4 1/2? Let's try lol
This track is brilliant by song structure (music theory) beyond the mix of western and non-western instrumentation (instruments) Horns, drums, the 21-string kora, etc
0:00 PRE INTRO - Ad libitum "in Latin", the performer may use their own discretion with regard to tempo and rhythm; literally "at pleasure". (It's lush and beautiful)
0:47 INTRO - Tempo and theme are established (You feel the downbeat/meter) (!!!START COUNTING!!! the beat 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4) KEEP COUNTING
1:03 DRUM DROPS IN - so if you kept counting the beat it's off now? What happened?
Non-western music can have 1/2, 1/4, or other number value beats/meters/measures
The count on the DRUM DROP goes 1, 2, 3, 4, 1/2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4 (half beat is added) (A full beat would make it count 5)
In western music, this measure would be incomplete.
*THE DOWNBEAT BECOMES THE UPBEAT*
I could ramble on about this track.
*IF YOU CAN READ MUSIC*
{quarter note, quarter note, quarter note, quarter note, half note}
that's the measure
brilliant

Anyone else around 18-21 years old now and think the days of little big planet was the best time ever? Like I had no expectations and no responsibilities, would come home and jump into a random world with other players and we'd just play levels or try to build crazy things..
Honestly one of the best games in my life, played it at the right time and at the right place. Brings tears to my eyes.
brianna!
i’m 16 and used to play it all the time and get so emotional when i listen to the lbp soundtrack now

I'm 22 and going into my final year of a design course and whenever I doubt myself I think back to the things I made in little big planet. I hope Media Molecule realises the full extent of the positive impact they have made on children's lives, the respect I have for them is beyond words.

I got to play the version of this in LBP with the lyrics still in it. I remember getting stuck (I'm dumb lol), but also really enjoying the music of the level. Hell, the music of the whole game! Some fantastic choice picks by Kenneth Young
THIS IS STAGED
Man Im 27 now and can remember how I enjoyed playing this when I was 15/16. What a beautiful life I miss now :(

I love this part 3:10 but the whole song experience is amazing too. :)
MOÏSE NIANG
J'ai chanté juste en hommage à mon jeune frère militaire TAPHA NIANG mort au champs d'honneur(tué par les rebelles au Sud du Sénégal ).
