Tracy Spencer Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Intro:
Oh I just want you to know
No matter where you go
It doesn't matter cause you're still in my heart

[Verse:]
Thinking of you
Brings tears to my eyes
Seems yesterday we were planning our lives
I'm so confused wondering why
How could you leave without saying goodbye
I picture your smile inside of my head
Still smell your colonge all over my bed
I miss you so much I pray every night
That the angels are watching and training you right

Chorus:
Oh I just want you to know
No matter where you go
It does't matter cause you're still in my heart

[Verse 2:]
I sing to myself
So nodody hears
There's just no ecaping the sounds of my tears
I miss you so much and every night
I can't get to sleep it ain't right
Memories keep holind me down
The're just no fun when you're not around
Don't know what to do now I face with the truth
Somehow I thought that we would always be in love

Chorus
Oh(oh baby)
I just want you to know(I just want you to know)
No matter where you go(no matter where you go)
I dosen't matter cause you're still in my heart(it does't matter matter
Yeah yeah yeah yeah)

Still in my heart

(You're still in my heart)
You're still in my heart(3x's)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Tracy Spencer's song Still in my Heart convey the emotions of someone who is heartbroken after a breakup. The opening lines of the song indicate that the person has accepted that their significant other has left them, and they are no longer together. However, the main theme of the song is that, even though the person has physically left, their memory and essence still remain in the singer's heart. The use of present tense throughout the song indicates that the person is still very much present in the singer's mind and heart, despite their physical absence.

The first verse of the song contains lines that show just how much the person has affected the singer. The feeling of confusion and the lack of closure is evident in the line "How could you leave without saying goodbye," which suggests that the person has not only physically left, but they have also left unanswered questions for the singer. In the second verse, the singer is struggling to move on from the person, and memories of the past keep holding them down. The line "Don't know what to do now I face with the truth" suggests that the person is coming to terms with the fact that the relationship is over, and they need to find a way to deal with it.

The chorus of the song repeats the idea that the person is still in the singer's heart, despite being physically absent. The use of the word "still" emphasizes the fact that even though time has passed, the singer's feelings for the person have not diminished.

Overall, the lyrics of Still in my Heart convey a sense of loss, confusion, and heartbreak. The theme of the song is that, even though someone may physically leave, their memory and essence can still remain in our hearts and minds.

Liyah just had that extra something i remember when it was a little competition
between the two but it wasnt between the two as usual
it was the industry every time one came out with a song it was played in heavy rotation on radio and video stations then see how many callers would call in for either artist and this was all over the country on many radio and video stations alike especially
900 the box video stattion on tv they made many dollas and had people’s phone bill sky high with these women

She was a natural beauty with a beautiful voice… she most definitely should’ve been way bigger in the music industry… very underrated!

She wasn't sluttly enough, so she didn't fly with the industry
