1. A sludgewave band from Florida, US. Similar to bands like Black Tongue and Immoralist, Traitors play a catastrophically heavy, slow and sludgy form of deathcore. They released their debut EP (Traitors - EP) in February 2014 through We Are Triumphant Records.

Tyler Shelton - Vocals
Alan de la Torre - Guitar
Mikey Ingram - Guitar
Dave Moore - Bass
Stephen Arango - Drums
2. They were "too much" for Jenny Jones' pro wrestling episode. Damn it, they've even kicked out their own members on occasion. They're Steve Albini and David Yow's favorite band. Maybe they're alien freakazoids too, but they're definitely on a mission. With an atomic mix of violently raw rawkers that Estrus Records would kill to have and the fastest songs this side of 1978, the Traitors are just that, traitors to the world of "punk" they were weened on, so much so that they don't even call it punk. "What kind of music do they play?" LOUD AND FAST.
Band Members: Marc Ruvolo (Sloppy Guitar), Billy Smith (Vocals and Masochist), Noah Young (Drums and non meat eater), Francisco Ramirez (Bass and Co-Pilot to Shiva). Other members include Todd Pot, Matt Skiba, Theo Katsaounis and Larry Demore(the guy from Pegboy).

Traitors Lyrics

This sludge in your chest and the taste makes you vomit. Absorb all that hate,
Fuck what they say,
Theyll just push pills down your throat that will dull you anyway.
They just want you working day to fucking day
Authority, has become the minority.
We donβ²t need anyone to tell us what's what.
We all are aware that somethingβ²s very fucked.
And we're all just a little fucked up.
We are now authority
We are the ever intelligible, volatile.
You've been outnumbered, you are the miniscule.
The hate campaigns now authority,
If youβ²re dead in the head, then follow me.
Weβ²re all authority
So absorb all that hate,
Fuck what they say,
Theyll just push pills down your throat that will dull you anyway.
The Traitors' song "Buried Alive" is a powerful anthem for people who have felt stuck in a system of authority that seeks to limit their freedom and perpetuate harmful social norms. In the opening lines, the lyrics immediately signal a sense of unity between the singer and the listener, using the phrase "you and I" to suggest a shared experience of oppression. The "rot" in question is the weight of societal pressure to conform, which is so overwhelming that it affects the listener physically, causing them to feel sick to their stomach.
The song encourages the listener to embrace their anger and refuse to be silenced by those who seek to control them. The idea of absorbing hate is presented not as a weakness, but as a defiant act of resistance against oppressive structures. The line "Authority has become the minority" evokes a sense of empowerment--that those in power are increasingly outnumbered by those who seek to rebel against their rule. The phrase "ever intelligible, volatile" suggests that those who reject authority are not mindless or irrational, but instead are capable of reasoned and passionate opposition.
Ultimately, "Buried Alive" is a call to arms for anyone who has ever felt trapped or oppressed by a system that seeks to keep them down. It encourages listeners to embrace their individuality and reject societal norms in order to find true freedom and happiness.
