Amazing
Travis & Jason Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound!
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils, and snares
I have already come.
Tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun.

We've no less days to sing God's grace,
Than when we first begun.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Amazing Grace" tell a beautiful story of redemption and salvation through the grace of God. The opening lines, "Amazing grace! How sweet the sound! That saved a wretch like me," speak to the transformative power of God's grace in the singer's life. The singer acknowledges that they were once lost and blind, but have now been found and can see with a new perspective.

The second verse speaks to the complex relationship between fear and grace. While grace has brought relief from fear, it has also taught the singer to fear the consequences of their actions. This paradox is explored further in the third verse, which acknowledges the many trials and tribulations the singer has faced, but emphasizes that it is only through grace that they have been able to persevere.

The final verse describes the eternal reign of God's grace, suggesting that the singer will continue to revel in its beauty for thousands of years to come. Overall, "Amazing Grace" is a testament to the power and steadfastness of God's love.

Mad respect for Jason Kelce and his ability to see what his brother could be, and to advocate for him, and to protect him! And because of that, heโ€™s one of my favorite players in the NFL. Period!

@alfredosoto7179

What a loving bro!

@simpleagain1

Agreed! Mad props for Kelce, Butch Jones, and Andy Reid

Yep. My older brother sh*t on everything I did...no matter how good I was. I eventually beat him at everything, which was why other people were so easy for me. He was 6'2" 220 when he was 15. I'm 5'9". 150lbs at 15. His endless bullying made me the baddass I am today. Unfortunately, he no longer talks to me because I called him a fat, sloppy mess who is gonna die soon if he doesn't figure things out...since he's over 400lbs now. The same guy who ridiculed me my whole life...is Mr. Sensitive when you give him tough love. F him AND his even fatter gf.

@nikolugo

Yeah it wasn't for his brother he wouldn't be a two-time Super Bowl champion

You can tell how much Travis looks up to Jason. He has never had anything negative to say about him in a serious manner. I knew Jason helped Travis when he was younger but not to the extent of literally saving his career and turning him into who he is today. Thatโ€™s incredibly respectable and exactly what brothers are for.
