Songz was born Tremaine Aldon Neverson on November 28, 1984, in Petersburg, Virginia. Raised a military brat, he recognized his vocal abilities at the age of 14. Talk About It
Trey Songz Lyrics

I don't wanna talk about it
I don't wanna talk about it
I don't wanna talk about it
(She cares)
She cares too much, I care enough
I love her, but, never said enough
My mind is so heavy and time doesn't let me think about shit
So much stress in my life that I'm holdin' inside, then I think about this
She said we ain't gotta talk about it
If I don't wanna talk about it
But if I wanna talk about it
She's all ears
Say she really worried 'bout me
But if I ain't really worried 'bout it
She ain't really trippin' on it
But she's still here
I said that I had a thing to hide
My life, my life, losing my damn mind
She said, "put it aside, I'll hold your pride"
And I can't ever explain why I ain't ever got time
Addicted to these girls, all around the world
Always want a new one
And it's, "Can I get a favor? Throw me little paper"
Everybody needs something
My mind is so heavy and time doesn't let me think about shit
So much stress in my life that I'm holdin' inside, then I think about this
She said we ain't gotta talk about it
If I don't wanna talk about it
But if I wanna talk about it
She's all ears
She say she really worried 'bout me
But if I ain't really worried 'bout it
She ain't really trippin' on it
But she's still here
She said we ain't gotta talk about it
If I don't wanna talk about it
But if I wanna talk about it
She's all ears
Say she really worried 'bout me
But if I ain't really worried 'bout it
She ain't really trippin' on it
But she's still here
We ain't gotta talk about it
If I don't wanna talk about it
But if I wanna talk about it
She's all ears
She says she's really worried 'bout me
But if I ain't really worried 'bout it
She ain't really trippin' on it
But she's still here
The lyrics of Trey Songz's song "Talk Bout It" convey a complicated emotional state and the dynamics of a relationship. The repetition of the line "I don't wanna talk about it" throughout the song suggests a desire to avoid discussing certain issues or emotions. The singer seems overwhelmed by his own thoughts and experiences, feeling burdened by stress and unable to fully engage with his partner. However, despite his reluctance to open up, his partner demonstrates care and support.
The line "She cares too much, I care enough" reflects a contrast in the level of emotional investment between the two. The singer acknowledges that he loves his partner, but he hasn't expressed it as much as he should. He describes his mind as heavy and consumed by stress, leaving little room for reflection or communication. Yet, he finds comfort in his partner's willingness to listen and support him, even though he may not reciprocate the same concern.
The chorus emphasizes the singer's partner's understanding. She assures him that they don't have to talk about their issues if he's not ready, but she's available to listen if he wants to. Despite her worries about him, she won't force him to address anything he's not ready to discuss. The song highlights the complexities and challenges of communication in a relationship, demonstrating the importance of patience, support, and understanding.
