LALALA
Trinidad Lyrics

Kung ika'y mayroong problema
Huwag nang dibdibin pa
Kunin ang gitara ika'y kumanta
Kahit boses mo'y wala sa nota
At di kailangang boses mo'y maganda

Ganyan lang kaibigan
Problema mo'y kantahan
Huwag kang magsimangot o maging masungit

I'm from Dominica (not Dominican Republic) but Dominica "an English speaking country with a French Creole culture -- similar to that of Saint Lucia and understood by the French West Indies: Martinique, Guadeloupe, Haiti".  That being said, Destra used the term "Bouyon" because she associates that type of music with Dominican/creole culture, which she has been exposed to as a performer at our annual World Creole Music Festival.  But it really isn't a typical bouyon song (Youtube Balance Batty by WCK).  However, it does reflect zouk/compas/candence elements that are shared among French creole countries like Dominica...and I, for one, am happy to see her further enrich her music by doing so.  The song is amazing!!!!!  Speaks to her versatility as an artist and her willingness to step out of the confined "soca box"!!!! #QoB

@Kareem Bertrand.  Yeah, the upfront bass guitar and accordion is clearly French Caribbean style.
