Trocadero is a band based in Cambridge, Massachusetts that consists of Nico Audy-Rowland, Martha Williams, Jeff Williams and Brandon Erdos. Other guest musicians include Philadelphia Telepants, Sandy Casey, Susan Hsia, and Karen Langlie. They are most famous for creating the theme to the popular machinima series Red vs Blue, "Blood Gulch Blues," as well as other music for the series such as "A Girl Named Tex". Music for one of Rooster Teeth's other series, The Strangerhood, including the theme song "Crazy Zoo," is being provided by Trocadero's Audy-Rowland in collaboration with Jeff Williams, forming a band called The Uggos.
The band is known for its diverse styles of music. Its signature element is the polyphonic blending of the voices of Nico and Wendy (now Nico and Martha). Instruments used by the band include drums, several kinds of keyboards, vocals, piano, violin, viola, guitars, and banjos. The song genres are even more diverse; the band's first CD includes tracks that are strongly influenced by the blues, disco, spirituals, western narrative, and many types of rock. In addition, one of the songs, "Oh Five!", is a brief Hawaiian intermission piece.
A second CD is currently in works and is set to be released in 2007. The song "Alien Champion", which plays during the end credits of the Red vs Blue season 3 DVD, will be included on the CD.

Half Life
Trocadero Lyrics

In want in miss
I taste your bite
I taste your kiss
And I think back
The things you said
They make me mad
A bull to red
And I wonder where you are
And I wonder what you wore
And I'm lost inside a bar
And I'm drunk inside a war
And I wonder where you are
Drinking Martinis by myself
On a Sunday
Drinking Martinis again
On a Monday
It's a half-life
It's a half-life
It's a half-life
It's a half-life
I buy your brand
I smoke your brand
I count the what
Ifs on one hand
And I wonder where you are
And I wonder what you wore
And I'm lost inside a bar
And I'm drunk inside a war
And I wonder where you are
Drinking Martinis alone
Sunday morning
Drinking Martinis again
Sunday evening
It's a half-life
It's a half-life
It's a half-life
It's a half-life
And I wonder where you are
The lyrics of Trocadero's "Half Life" speak of a relationship that has deteriorated into a confusing situation of love and hate, desire and repulsion. The singer of the song is still very much in love with their partner, although they are no longer together, but at the same time, the memory of their past interactions makes them angry and frustrated. The song is a wistful meditation on the lingering feelings that remain after a relationship has ended.
The chorus of the song, which repeats the phrase "It's a half-life" four times in a row, is symbolic of the singer's feelings of emptiness and incompleteness. They feel as though they are only half alive without their partner, but at the same time, they know that they cannot continue to live in the past. The lyrics "Drinking Martinis alone/Sunday morning/Drinking Martinis again/Sunday evening" further emphasize the singer's lonely and repetitive existence, as they try to fill the void left by their lost love.
Overall, "Half Life" is a poignant and melancholy song that captures the bittersweet emotions that come with the end of a relationship. It is a reminder that even when a relationship has ended, the memories and feelings associated with it can linger on for a long time.

All this time and I only just realized that "Half Life" is describing the way the singer sees their life as being half-missing without their lover

My first “boyfriend” said this was his favorite song. I went home and listened to to it on repeat. That was 5-6 years ago, and I still listen to it. Thanks Griffin. You were a pretty cool dude. (Except for ghosting me, that kinda sucked.) Hope you’re having a good life.
