In 2011 and 2012, Contostavlos was a judge on the The X Factor and mentored the "Groups" category in her first year including Little Mix, the first ever group to win the competition to date. Contostavlos released her debut solo album in 2012, titled The Female Boss. On 16 March 2012 during a Twitter dispute with her cousin and bandmate Dappy Contostavlos announced that N-Dubz had in fact split up and were not taking a break as stated in 2011.
In 2011, it was announced that Tulisa would replace Cheryl Cole on the 'X Factor' judging panel along with Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland.
The Young Songfacts reports that in 2012 Tulisa released her debut solo single. Young was produced by STL, a production duo which was founded by Richard Rawson. It was premiered on Chris Moyle's BBC Radio 1 show on March 23, 2012 and released on May 6, 2012 through Island Records and All Around The World.
In 2009, Contostavlos turned down a £250,000 offer to pose nude for playboy magazine on moral grounds. She was also named at number 15 in FHM's '100 Sexiest Women in the World list' in the May 2010 issue, but has stated several times she will never strip for photos due to her moral beliefs . Contostavlos was in an on/off relationship with DJ Adam Bailey who she was reported to be engaged to in early 2009, but she finished with him when he was accused of GBH.

Who am I kidding' Bitch, I am on top
Parted buds in my flashing cameras, give me a shot
Seven days a week and the party goes on
Making great marching angers
Can't come through to make it in though
You can taste my flavor
Fortune teller predicted
My career gon bewicked
But my love life ain't shit, cheers
Let's drink to it
I've been here before
And I know that I'll be back for more
I'm just living my life
And I hope it don't kill me tonight night night
I hope it don't kill me tonight, no
I'm just living my life
Hope it don't kill me tonight, no
I hope it don't kill me
How did I get here' I'm out of control
Out every night, I miss taking it slow
Drinking like a fish til I'm feeling sick, cleansing my soul
It's only Monday, I'm already gone
Driving, head high the window
Pon demise down the main road
House in store for the rebel
I don't even need my bloke
Fortune teller predicted
My career gon bewicked
But my love life ain't shit, cheers
Let's drink to it
I've been here before
And I know that I'll be back for more
I'm just living my life
And I hope it don't kill me tonight night night
I hope it don't kill me tonight, no
I'm just living my life
Hope it don't kill me tonight, no
I hope it don't kill me
Thank God thank God thank God'
It started to make me feel much better somehow
I'm starting to feel like nothing matters right now
I've been here before
And I know that I'll be back for more
I'm just living my life
And I hope it don't kill me tonight night night
I hope it don't kill me tonight, no
I'm just living my life
Hope it don't kill me tonight, no
I hope it don't kill me
I hope it don't kill me tonight night night
I hope it don't kill me tonight, no
I'm just living my life
Hope it don't kill me tonight, no
I hope it don't kill me tonight
Thank God thank God thank God' (I hope it don't kill me)
Thank God thank God thank God'
In Tulisa's song "Kill Me Tonight," the lyrics explore the life of a rebel who enjoys partying and being in the limelight. Throughout the song, she sings about her love for the party life and how it's the only thing that makes her happy. She mentions that she is out of control and drinks excessively, but it's all for the sake of enjoying life to the fullest. Tulisa sings about how she hopes the partying lifestyle doesn't end up killing her tonight. The lyrics suggest that the singer is aware that her behavior is dangerous and reckless, but she can't seem to help herself. Despite knowing the risks involved, she continues to live her life on the edge, hoping that she can stay alive long enough to enjoy her fame and fortune. Overall, "Kill Me Tonight" is a thought-provoking song that examines the dark side of the party culture and fame-seeking that often comes with a career in music.
