Tumbleweed (Australia) filled the stoner-rock void in Australia during the heavy grunge years of the 1990s. As the opening band for Nirvana on their 1992 tour of Australia, Tumbleweed was able to reach out into the mainstream with their crunchy-psychedelica and the subtle vocal stylings of singer Richie Lewis. The original line up of the band have recently reformed and are playign around Australia with a double cd retrsopective of their Waterfront Records era songs due out late 2010 on Aztec Music.
Tumbleweed (Sweden) is bonecrushing instro/surf in the same league as Mr Dick Dale. Tumbleweed combines super reverboholic guitar with driving bass and piledriving drums. Take hammondorgan from the likes of Booker T. And The MG's and add to the lightningfast but also sometimes slow and groovy songs
Tumbleweed (Norway) was formed by Rolf Gjesdal, Eirik Lye, Christer Knutsen, Erik Rønli and Rune Helland sometime during the five last years of the 20th century. This band was a "stavangersk" country rock band, which released two EP's; Five High Horses and NeoCosmicBreakdownDeluxe, and two albums; Another Kind of Happiness and Once More With Feeling.
In 2004 the band was "Spellemanspris"-nominated (a Norwegian version of the Grammy) for best Blues/Country of the year.
December 28th 2006 the band played their last concert at Folken in Stavanger, and Tumbleweed was set to an end.
Tumbleweed (Yeovil UK) are a punk/stoner rock band from Yeovil Somerset.
Tubleweed (United Kingdom) are Alonza Bevan (Kula Shaker) and Audrey Evans (Mediaeval Baebes).
Hang Around
Tumbleweed Lyrics

When today's just a taste of a new tomorrow
And there's a throne in the tomb of the ancient tarot
And it's new and it's true and they call it retro
More than once upon a time
When ignorance was mine
Didn't have the time for
And I've seen it all before
It's too hard to ignore
I do nothing else but
Hang around
With a sin in the hand is an evolution
See you take what you get is a new illusion
When the sun disappears leaving only shadow
There's a hole in your soul and it's getting bigger oh
The song "Hang Around" by Tumbleweed speaks about finding purpose and meaning in life while navigating the complexities of the world. The opening verse talks about following a sign on the road to a new tomorrow, which suggests that the way forward lies in uncovering new possibilities and directions. The line "there's a throne in the tomb of the ancient tarot" refers to the idea of tapping into ancient knowledge and wisdom to find a way forward, while the phrase "new and true and they call it retro" suggests that the answer may lie in looking backwards to find ways to move forwards.
The second verse speaks about the dangers of living in ignorance and not taking the time to appreciate what life has to offer. The line "with a sin in the hand is an evolution" suggests that one needs to embrace both good and bad aspects of life to evolve into a better person. The phrase "when the sun disappears leaving only shadow" speaks to the idea of facing moments of darkness and despair, and the resulting hole in one's soul that can be left behind.
Overall, "Hang Around" by Tumbleweed is a reflective and introspective song that encourages listeners to embrace life's complexities while looking for ways to find meaning and purpose.

Yeah guys, I really miss the 90's sound too. Tumbleweed are probably the most underrated band of all time......I mean, wtf is not to like? Tumbleweed are quite simply Australia's Black Sabbath! And while we're at it, RIP Jay Curly! Truly a master of bass like Geezer Butler. I hope with everything in me that they make another album. Fingers crossed!
