Since 2021, Hubbard’s bandmate Brian Kelley signaled an intention to record and release solo music while remaining a part of Florida Georgia Line, with the support of Hubbard. Simultaneously, Hubbard revealed he would occasionally record collaborations as a solo artist as well. The first of these, the single "Undivided" with Tim McGraw, was released on January 13, 2021. He then featured on the song "My Way" with rapper Lathan Warlick. Hubbard and Russell Dickerson were both featured on Thomas Rhett's 2022 promotional single "Death Row".
Hubbard signed a recording contract with EMI Nashville in May 2022 and plans to release a solo album on the label. He released his debut solo single "5 Foot 9" later that month. On November 4, 2022, Hubbard announced that his debut album would be released on January 27, 2023. He co-headlined the halftime show at the 109th Grey Cup in Regina, Saskatchewan alongside Jordan Davis and Josh Ross.

Run around like
I'm racing the clock and I'm chasing the wind?
The kind of guy (the kind of guy)
That's always grinding
And everything's something that I gotta win
So I drown out the noise for a minute
I'm known for pushing the limit
I'm guilty of going to fast
Sometimes I gotta slow down
Catch a roll down some red rock road
Let it all sink in like these 35's
Make some time to kill, kick it back and chill
Do a little more livin' than gettin' by
Burn a couple lights, shoot a couple cans
Take a look at life, I'm just sayin'
Sometimes I gotta slow down
Catch a roll down some red rock road
Let it all sink in like these 35's
Thirty five mile an hour
One out the window and one on the wheel
Turn it up a little louder
That hit from the kick drum's all I wanna feel
So I drown out the noise for a minute
And blow through a whole tank of gas (gas)
I'm known for pushing the limit
I'm guilty of going to fast
Sometimes I gotta slow down
Catch a roll down some red rock road
Let it all sink in like these 35's
Make some time to kill, kick it back and chill
Do a little more livin' than gettin' by
Burn a couple lights, shoot a couple cans
Take a look at life, I'm just sayin'
Sometimes I gotta slow down
Catch a roll down some red rock road
Let it all sink in like these 35's
Like these 35's, like these 35's
Let it all sink in like these 35's
Like these 35's, like these 35's
Let it all sink in
Sometimes I gotta slow down
Catch a roll down some red rock road
Let it all sink in like these 35's
Make some time to kill, kick it back and chill
Do a little more livin' than gettin' by
Burn a couple lights, shoot a couple cans
Take a look at life, I'm just sayin'
Sometimes I gotta slow down
Catch a roll down some red rock road
Let it all sink in like these 35's (yeah)
Like these 35's, like these 35's
Let it all sink in like these 35's (yeah)
Like these 35's, like these 35's
Sink in like these mother truckin' 35's
The song "35's" by Tyler Hubbard describes a man who is constantly busy, always chasing success and pushing his limits. The lyrics open with the artist questioning why he is always running around as if racing the clock and chasing the wind. He admits that he is the kind of guy who is always grinding and sees everything as something he has to win. The song then goes on to describe how the artist drowns out the noise and pushes himself to the limit. He admits that he is guilty of going too fast and does not take the time to slow down and appreciate life.
However, the lyrics change in the chorus as the artist acknowledges that sometimes he has to slow down and catch a roll down some red rock road. He encourages himself to let everything sink in, like the 35-inch tires on his truck. He advises himself to make some time to kill, kick it back and chill, and do a little more living than just getting by. The artist then describes burning a couple of lights, shooting a couple of cans, and taking a look at life. He uses 35's as a metaphor for taking a break and enjoying life, rather than pushing himself too hard.
Overall, the song portrays the importance of taking a break and finding balance in life. It encourages listeners to slow down and take a moment to appreciate life and the simple things around them. The realization that life is more than just winning and success is a crucial one that many people need to hear.

“35’s” is OUT NOW. It’s a song that makes me wanna put the pedal to the metal, but it’s really about slowing down and living life at a slower pace, being present, and in the moment. I wrote it a couple of years ago with my buddies Jordan Schmidt and Michael Tyler and it’s become an anthem in my home that I never get tired of. This one’s gonna be fun to play live. Turn this one up.

You might have written it a few years back, but you released it at the perfect time. The world has been a mess for everyone for too long. But spring is coming. This winter destroyed everything I worked for. I lost so much and felt so hopeless. But when you lose it all, you're still left. With experience, patience, and appreciation for the struggles and success; we're all going to be alright going forward.
Just enjoy the ride man
