Justice Coming
Typical Cats Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

24 Appuntamento
Appointment
Hai perso l'autobus?
Did you miss the bus?
Ti ho aspettato per mezz'ora.
I waited for you for half an hour.
Non hai con te un cellulare?
Don't you have a mobile / cell phone (am.) with you?

La prossima volta sii puntuale!
Be punctual next time!
La prossima volta prendi un taxi!
Take a taxi next time!
La prossima volta prendi un ombrello!
Take an umbrella with you next time!

Domani sono libero.
I have the day off tomorrow.
Ci vediamo domani?
Shall we meet tomorrow?
Mi dispiace, domani non posso.
I'm sorry, I can't make it tomorrow.

Hai già programmi per questo fine settimana?
Do you already have plans for this weekend?
O hai già qualche impegno?
Or do you already have an appointment?
Io propongo di vederci questo fine settimana.
I suggest that we meet on the weekend.

Facciamo un picnic?
Shall we have a picnic?
Andiamo in spiaggia?
Shall we go to the beach?
Andiamo in montagna?
Shall we go to the mountains?

Ti passo a prendere in ufficio.
I will pick you up at the office.
Ti passo a prendere a casa.
I will pick you up at home.

Ti passo a prendere alla fermata dell'autobus.
I will pick you up at the bus stop.

Overall Meaning

The above lyrics are the Italian phrases for a dialogue between two individuals planning a meeting. The first verses start with one individual expressing frustration towards the other for being late, suggesting that they be punctual next time, take a taxi or an umbrella in case it rains. The conversation then moves onto the topic of the next meeting and its timing. The individual expresses availability for the next day, asks if they want to meet, but declines if the other has appointments. The conversation then moves onto the suggestion of having a picnic, going to the beach or mountains, and then onto the logistics of picking up the other individual if needed.

The song "Justice Coming" by the Typical Cats, however, does not have any connection to the above lyrics. It is a track from their album "Civil Service" that describes the harsh realities of life for Chicago's underprivileged community. The lyrics critique the government and the justice system for the lack of justice and equality for the oppressed. The chorus goes: "Justice coming, when? We don't know yet." The verses speak of police brutality, poverty, and death, with lines such as "Cops kill kids for kicks, and walks with a not-guilty verdict" and "Death has more colors than the rainbow."
