After Olenna Tyrell dies no one will rule, perhaps a cousin of Mace Tyrell would rule after Olenna's death, I don't believe every Tyrell was in King's Landing, it wouldn't make sense if they were though, after all someone has to control and manage Highgarden when Olenna left Highgarden.

I hope we see more of the Tyrell's in Season 8 or Season 7, it would be nice to know who would rule after Olenna dies?

The Blackfyre Margaery was a master at the game of thrones, she became Queen with such little effort, she seduced Joffrey and then Tommen after that. She had it all, she even manipulated the religious crazies to bend them to her will until Cersei blundered through and destroyed everything. Cersei is a fool and the only thing she has guaranteed is that many will now want to see her dead. She is ludicrously outnumbered and outgunned. She is just a nuisance compared to the real threat that is coming.

This line just makes so much sense from House Martell, who since the sack of Kings Landing and the rape and butchery of Elia Martell and her infant children have thought and plotted nothing but bringing down the Lannisters.

The Dornish plot in the book involves Arianna Martell trying to goad the Lannisters into invading Dorne (a fools errand, as even the Targaryens found out). She is thwarted by her father who reveals that he has been plotting a Targaryen restoration from virtually the moment they fell. All her adult life, she was always offered unpleasant or insulting marriage proposals, such as Walder Frey - and began to think her father was trying to supplant her as heir, in favour of her brother. The true reason was she would ultimately be free to marry Viserys and become Queen. When he dies, the plan is changed as her brother is sent as potential consort to Daenerys.

What I do not understand is why, when that amazing material was there, D&D wrote that abomination of a Dorne subplot we were made to suffer with.

@Alexander I think it was because D&D had no idea of how the Dornish plot will unfold. Dorne in the books gives mysterious middle-east vibe, like in The Alchemist. Mysteries and conspiracies like that are too delicate to handle and require patient audience. Sadly, GoT grew too big for its own good and most of its fandom was tumblr stans instead literature lovers

@Puneet Mishrathat really was the problem both the story and the infrastructure behind it grew too large to do well as a tv show. Actors wanted to leave and were becoming prohibitively expensive and they just had too little time to pay off everything they set up in the earlier seasons. Unfortunately with the books being unfinished it was just too hard for them to know how to simplify the storey enough to make it a feasible tv story. Doesn't make the writing of the last seasons better but it is at least understandable why it happened.

Love how Olenna tells off the second 'Sand Snake', as if making an apology for her sister makes you more innocent somehow or allows for excuses to be made in any case.

Its was like; "oh shut up you aren't any better than she is, and i KNOW exactly what you're up to". This is a line directly taken from the books, although it's Prince Doran who says it rather than Olenna. In the books, Doran is portrayed as a master plotter, and he is known to work behind the scenes to advance Dorne's interests. In A Feast For Crows, he delivers this line to his daughter Arianne, who has been caught trying to launch a coup to depose Tommen and install Myrcella Baratheon on the throne, who would then marry Arianne's brother Trystane and give Dorne a royal seat again. Doran reveals that he had secretly brokered a marriage pact between Arianne and (the now dead) Viserys Targaryen. When Viserys was given his crown of gold by Khal Drogo, Doran pivoted and sent his son Quentyn (the Frog) to offer himself in marriage to Daenerys. I don't think people appreciated this scene as they should have, it contains a miniscule and yet such a singular second of arguably the most perfect acting I've ever seen. 0:58 'Cersei stole the future from me...' That little flinch of the face she does, that little teary blink that almost gives away the fact that she's fighting hard not to burst into tears of grief. Just this one little line and instant movement of the face, it makes your heart break for her. And you could argue she was brilliant for saving the script in such a way, because the show didn't give her time to mourn at all, they just flung her back into the action like she hadn't just lost her entire family. And she manages to compensate it with such a single little second of perfection. Every time I watch this scene, it makes me tear up.

You know after all of her family died, I couldn’t stop feeling pity for Olenna. Every time she was onscreen in season 7 I felt sorry for her. Some people blame her for what happened with her family but I don’t. How was she supposed to predict that Cersei would arm the faith militant and imprison her grandchildren which led to everything? She only killed Joffrey to 1 protect Margaery from his wrath and 2 to get Margaery to manipulate the next king, who was an easier mark. She probably thought Margaery could handle Tommen which she did. She did say “You can do even better” in season 4 episode 4 didn’t she? She never underestimated Margaery’s manipulation tactics. I love Olenna Tyrell, she was my favorite Tyrell.

There's a amazing fanfic someone wrote where when they die they go to afterlife, which to them looks like the water garden in Dorne, and even Elia martell is there, but Oberyn is pissed at them and slaps her away, and he washes his hands of ever caring about them, and they are left in the barren sand now crying and alone in their punishment.
If Arianne Martell was in show canon, I imagine a civil war breaking out when they all hear how Elia killed Doran, her lovers beloved brother and their ruler as well as her family since they took her in like their own, then her brother and the beloved prince. So Elia all haughty tries to get on Olennas side, only for news to break out of a massive revolt as the dornish flock to Arianne, the rightful ruler and the one who lost her father and brother to those bitches, then not long after, the dornish storm into the palace to end their traitorous usurping, all of them who stood by the ideals of the Martells, not killing children, family being sacred, etc, the sand snakes try pathetically to fight back, but they get captured, then Arianne Martell holds trial, and spends time bashing them for what they did before sentencing them to death, mocking Ellaria and the sands when they plead for mercy as they are family since that did not stop them killing her dad and brother. And, as a bonus, Arianne gives them a death by poison, the same one that killed Myrcella to the sands as they make Ellaria watch, before her dying, then goes to Dany and allies with her, when Dany asks what happened to Ellaria she laughs and says the murderous bitch who killed their rulers/king family and her own family by union with Oberyn is dead. Tyrion then thanks her profusely, and gives her a high five, while Dorne parties knowing the martells are avenged.

I wish the show would've had Willas and Garlan Tyrell in the show. This episode made it look like Cersei just killed the whole Tyrell house when in the books there are 4 Tyrell children.

To this day I want to know exactly why Varys was there. Because I don't know that he was there for Daenerys or some other plot. I'd like to think Olenna Tyrell set something in motion that will later affect Cersei. But house Tyrell is no more. Thanks to what's left of the Lannister Army. Amazing scene. Too bad nothing came of it. Tyrion and Varys were useless to Dany. Tyrion got all her allies killed trying to spare his sister. And Varys the "spymaster", was useless, put more energy into plotting against Dany than helping her.
