Medicine
U.S.S. Lyrics

The penny's dropped, and gone inside ya
The scales have fallen from your eyes
The die is cast, you're in my sights
You can stay with me
Stay on safer ground
What you wanna do, you wanna fly
Back to my kind of medicine
It's what you want
Take my medicine
Making you strong
So take my medicine
It's a heavy pill
Take my medicine
You got the thrill
Take a bite of what I got ya
Bite down hard, you cannot break it
In your head, yes you'll be mine
Heartbeat searching for a life
You can stay with me
Stay on safer ground
What you wanna do, you wanna fly
Back to my kind of medicine
It's what you want
Take my medicine
Making you strong
So take my medicine
It's a heavy pill
Take my medicine
You got the thrill
The lyrics of U.S.S.'s song "Medicine" can be interpreted in relation to a toxic and manipulative relationship. The opening lines suggest a forceful and invasive nature, with the singer urging the listener to "open up" and forcefully inserting themselves into the listener's life. The imagery of the penny dropping and going inside symbolizes a realization or acceptance of this presence.
The next line, "The scales have fallen from your eyes," implies that the listener is now able to see the truth about the situation. This may indicate a moment of clarity, where they can finally see the manipulative intentions of the singer. The phrase "The die is cast, you're in my sights" suggests that the singer has made a decision to target the listener, perhaps intending to exert control or influence over them.
The chorus, "Take my medicine, it's what you want," can be interpreted as the singer offering their toxic influence as a solution to the listener's desires or needs. The word "medicine" here represents a metaphorical cure or solution, but it is clear that the singer's intentions are not genuine or beneficial. They claim that this medicine will make the listener strong, but it is evident that it is actually a heavy burden or burden on them.
The subsequent lines continue to emphasize this toxic dynamic. The phrase "In your head, yes you'll be mine" suggests that the singer wants to possess the listener mentally, manipulating their thoughts and emotions. The line "Heartbeat searching for a life" implies that the listener may be vulnerable or searching for something, and the singer aims to exploit this vulnerability for their own satisfaction.
Overall, the lyrics of "Medicine" depict a toxic relationship where the singer exerts control and manipulation over the listener. The concept of medicine is twisted and used to symbolize a harmful influence, despite the singer claiming that it will provide what the listener wants. The lyrics serve as a cautionary tale about the dangers of getting involved in toxic relationships and the importance of recognizing manipulation and staying on safer ground.

Weird, this song took a while to grow on me. I didn't appreciate it until I heard it live 10 or so times. Human Kebab, you have some nice vocals on this. I hope to hear more.

I wonder how long it’ll take for this to be played at a rehab centre. But when it does I’m sure the staff will be rockin out to it. 😂

I saw you guys live for the second time in Toronto down by the beaches. It was your second last concert . I have never been both so happy at the concert...and sad that I won't see you many more time. The best band I've ever had the privilege to see live. You will be missed!!
