Overall Meaning

Congratulations soldier! ::::: Female soldiers, a 9 Minute mile will not cut it. The 5 mile run is ran at a 7 or 8 minute mile. Which translates to about 7 mph. You'll be running up hills as well. I truly believe that the Army surreptitiously, (secretly), tries to weed the female soldiers out. So, any female soldier who graduates BAC, I have mad respect for.

lol bro its always hot out there almost year round and 2nd they do PT at 0530 in the morning there is no heat cat 5 at that time it's still dark outside, trust me i know because i did PT with those guys before it's brutal.

10 miles a day no not even close. Maybe 2-3miles a day, and that's if you don't have a run that Morning. And yes in the summer it's always Heat Cat 5, but they still make you run everywhere until about 1300-1400.

I could do 20 airborne pull-ups, and 200 pushup, at 180 lbs when I did airborne school. There were no females.

What?PT runs only 3 days a week?We did PT runs everyday so the Black Hats could fail more people.This was back in 1986 when i went through.

They failed me on my first PT Test, because my push ups "weren't good enough". Made me take it again the next day only for the black hat to tell me my push ups are perfect. Threw up for the first time ever after the run. I was in bad shape, don't know if it was pneumonia or the flu. Had it bad for the entire course. And never fell out of a run. For PT we ran 3x a week, but we ran everywhere everyday. Honestly the hardest part of Airborne School.

Will you get kicked out if you can't do a pull-up? I know its not part of the PT test, but I heard they do a lot of them there during the training

You need to be able to do pull ups because you need to be able to pull your risers when you learn how to do a parachute landing fall. Come prepared and don’t come performing at the bare minimum. You run everywhere and make sure you are acclimated to the heat or used to training outside. Bottom line if you come prepared you will not have any issues good luck Airborne all the way!

3 days for 5 jumps, and 2 Days of clean up.
It's 3 weeks long, that's if you don't have days off from scheduled training, or weather issues on jump day.

Landing form is something you will learn on day one. Legs straight out and feet together. They can't stress enough on how important that is.

Yes, the requirements to join the Army follow to all components and schools within the Army. The only difference is that for Airborne you must be less than 36 years of age and have a passing PT score in the 17-21 age group, including a passing rate of 60%+ in each individual part of the test followed by the flexed arm hang for 20 seconds.

In order to get into Airborne you must have completed BCT and AIT.

Well it won't change much but going Airborne gives you more options of duty stations because some bases you can't go to unless you are airborne and plus you get paid an extra $150 per month for Airborne.

going airborne opens up opportunities for what units you can go to. I failed airborne school, because apparently I have an issue when it comes to swings, so I failed out on the swing trainer. I lost my opportunity to go to 3rd SF Group because of it, that's why you go Airborne. So you don't end up at some regular unit. Other than that Airborne is pretty much useless, except the wings on your uniform, and the Jump pay.
