1. Vegan straight edge hardcore band from New England. Ultimatum is Cesar Gonzalez (vocals), Nick Birtles (drums), Trang Anh Le (bass), Harrison Sacco (guitar), and Evan Stein (guitar). Tommy Harte was also in the lineup for the first gig, playing bass, before quitting because he doesn’t fuckin’ know bass. They played their first show in December of 2021, and their second show in March of 2022, dropping a demo in November 2022. Stylistically, they are inspired by bands such as Throwdown and Black My Heart — heavy, moshable riffs with downtuned production with literate and intelligent lyrics that make reference to theorists such as Nick Land and Foucault, all while maintaining a straight edge theme. Members are also in notable bands such as Anklebiter, Broken Vow, Pummel, and Ill Comm.

The band has finished recording of their second album entitled U Vihoru Vremena, which is scheduled for the release in 2012.

3. Ultimatum were an influential hardcore punk band based in Melbourne, Australia.
Ultimatum formed in 1995 and were the first vegan straight-edge band in Australia. They appeared around the same time that Earth Crisis released the definitive record 'Destroy the Machines'.
Ultimatum were also one of the early Australian bands to introduce the modern 'new school' metal influenced form of hardcore to Australia. They were also recognised, not only for their vegan straight edge stance, but also for their emotional and politically charged lyrics.
They garnered a following around Australia, Asia and in Europe with the release of their first self titled EP in 1997, recorded by engineer Scott Harper.
Ultimatum's second EP was a split CD released on Melbourne based Trial and Error/Shock Records, with highly regarded and now defunct hardcore band Not for You. This release promptly sold out and is now a rare item.
During their time, Ultimatum performed with international bands H2O, Strife, Vision of Disorder, Sommerset and Australian bands Mindsnare, 28 Days, Vicious Circle and many others.
Ultimatum disbanded in 2000. Members of the band have gone on to perform in other outfits in various music genres. Some of these bands include Within Blood, Hitlist and Retired Poets League.

Action on the big screen.
Vile, thriller, how much would you give
to see blood spill on the TV.
Torture, torture, blood curdling scream.
Hear it in stereo.
Creepy, wicked, pulls out his knife.
We do it all for show.
self or follow the box of deceit.
BRAINDEAD! Can't believe all you see.
A nation of lost sheep.
Gutterbox! Garbage in garbage out,
that trash corrodes your mind.
BRAINDEAD! Open up your eyes
before it robs you blind.
Solo-Steve
Racist, racist, burning a cross,
what a killer show.
Rapist, rapist, stalking his prey.
How far will we go.
Murder, murder, desensitize,
over and over again.
Twisting, warping, led to believe,
that your thoughts are your own.
Gutterbox! Do you think for your-
self or follow the box of deceit.
BRAINDEAD! Can't believe all you see.
A nation of lost sheep.
Gutterbox! Garbage in garbage out, that trash corrodes your mind.
BRAINDEAD! Open up your eyes
before it robs you blind.
The song "Gutterbox" by Ultimatum is a scathing critique of the entertainment industry's obsession with violence, exploitation, and dehumanization. The lyrics describe a world where everything is reduced to a spectacle, where murder, torture, and rape are presented as forms of entertainment, and where people are brainwashed into accepting this as normal.
The verses are filled with vivid imagery of violence and depravity, from the chilling screams of torture to the burning of crosses by racists. The chorus is a call to action, urging listeners to think for themselves and resist the corrosive influence of the media. The repeated lines "Gutterbox! Do you think for yourself or follow the box of deceit" and "BRAINDEAD! Can't believe all you see. A nation of lost sheep" hammer home the song's message with brutal clarity.
Overall, "Gutterbox" is a powerful protest against the dehumanization of modern society, and a call for people to wake up and take control of their own minds and lives instead of letting themselves be led like sheep.
