1. Vegan straight edge hardcore band from New England. Ultimatum is Cesar Gonzalez (vocals), Nick Birtles (drums), Trang Anh Le (bass), Harrison Sacco (guitar), and Evan Stein (guitar). Tommy Harte was also in the lineup for the first gig, playing bass, before quitting because he doesn’t fuckin’ know bass. They played their first show in December of 2021, and their second show in March of 2022, dropping a demo in November 2022. Stylistically, they are inspired by bands such as Throwdown and Black My Heart — heavy, moshable riffs with downtuned production with literate and intelligent lyrics that make reference to theorists such as Nick Land and Foucault, all while maintaining a straight edge theme. Members are also in notable bands such as Anklebiter, Broken Vow, Pummel, and Ill Comm.

3. Ultimatum were an influential hardcore punk band based in Melbourne, Australia.
Ultimatum formed in 1995 and were the first vegan straight-edge band in Australia. They appeared around the same time that Earth Crisis released the definitive record 'Destroy the Machines'.
Ultimatum were also one of the early Australian bands to introduce the modern 'new school' metal influenced form of hardcore to Australia. They were also recognised, not only for their vegan straight edge stance, but also for their emotional and politically charged lyrics.
They garnered a following around Australia, Asia and in Europe with the release of their first self titled EP in 1997, recorded by engineer Scott Harper.
Ultimatum's second EP was a split CD released on Melbourne based Trial and Error/Shock Records, with highly regarded and now defunct hardcore band Not for You. This release promptly sold out and is now a rare item.
During their time, Ultimatum performed with international bands H2O, Strife, Vision of Disorder, Sommerset and Australian bands Mindsnare, 28 Days, Vicious Circle and many others.
Ultimatum disbanded in 2000. Members of the band have gone on to perform in other outfits in various music genres. Some of these bands include Within Blood, Hitlist and Retired Poets League.

Violence & Bloodshed
Ultimatum Lyrics

Music is an expression, with that thereís no debate.
Why not sing of my faith, for it's what I live.
If you want message of violence,
I've got a one to give.
Violence & Bloodshed (4x)
blood spouts from the flesh,
hard wood rubs at the stripes from the whips to his back.
Gravity pulls down the body, lungs gasp for air.
Impaled and sentenced to die for the sins of man.
Violence & Bloodshed (4x)
Violence & Bloodshed, infliction & hurting,
death & the suffering of man.
For it is written no greater love exists than to lay down your life for a friend! (2x)
Is that violent enough for ya?
(Solo: Robert Gutierrez)
Who says you can't mix aggression with a message of faith.
Music is an expression, with that thereís no debate.
Why not sing of my faith, for it what I live.
If you want message of violence,
I've got a one to give.
To those who try to mock us for that for which we do,
We will never back down for we know our message is true.
Screaming the ultimate music with real brutal truth
And if you want aggression and violence
I've got a message for you
Violence & Bloodshed (4x)
Violence & Bloodshed, infliction & hurting, death & the suffering of man.

The lyrics of Ultimatum's "Violence & Bloodshed" tackle the idea that mixing Christian faith and aggressive music is a possibility, and not a contradiction. The song acknowledges that music is an expression, and thus, there is no debate about what mixing aggression and faith can bring. The song emphasizes the importance of singing about one's faith, as it is something they truly believe in. The band then contrasts this with the message that if one is looking for a message of violence, they have one to give. The chorus repeats the phrase "Violence & Bloodshed," taking it to extremes in characterizing the nature of sin as cold steel sharp enough to pierce through the hands of the savior.
The second verse elaborates on the suffering of Jesus Christ during the crucifixion as it narrates the events leading up to his death. The medley of violence and bloodshed is visually described by the flesh that spurts blood from the wounds, the stripes from the whips rubbing at the skin, and the body that gasps for air with its weight dragging towards death. The repetition of the phrase "Violence & Bloodshed" at the end of the verse emphasizes and reinforces the pain and suffering that the crucifixion represents. The song then culminates in repeating the chorus once again.
Overall, the song's message is a strong and aggressive reminder of the violence of sin and the sacrifice required for forgiveness. Ultimatum provides an engaging way of communicating this message through their mix of heavy, thrash metal sound and the emotional weight of their lyrics.
