This whistling motif was repeated at the end of the section as the Olympic rings came together in the sky, and is also featured in "Caliban's Dream", the track that accompanied the lighting of the Olympic cauldron near the end of the ceremony.

Come on. Seriously who didn't have a lump in their throat and tears in their eyes when they saw that molten steel Olympic symbol come together? If you didn't, you're lying, lol

I still think of that sometimes, this has to be the most memorable opening ceremony of all time. Yes, when we twigged what it was coming together to form .. and I thought I'm so silly, of course! But still. And also, there's never going to be a better Olympic cauldron than the one that came together at the end from each country's piece. It was deceptively simple but symbolised what it's all about.
