Upchurch created Upchurch the Redneck with his friend Shade Glover and began uploading videos to YouTube.[2] He released an extended play, Cheatham County, in 2015, followed by a full-length album, Heart of America, in 2016.[2] Both releases reached the top 30 of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.[3] Heart of America sold 1,300 copies in its first week of release.[4]
The second full-length album, Chicken Willie, was released in August 2016. It reached No. 22 on Billboard's Top Country Albums and No. 11 on the Rap Albums charts, selling 2,800 copies in the first week.[5] In 2017 Upchurch released another EP titled Summer Love, which is completely country-oriented, with no elements of rap music; and another studio album titled Son of the South. Summer Love debuted at No. 33 in the Top Country Albums chart with 3,700 copies sold, while Son of the South debuted at No. 29 with 48,100 copies sold.[6]
Upchurch's fifth studio album, King of Dixie, was released on November 10, 2017, and features 19 tracks. Upchurch's first rock album, Creeker, was released on April 20 which was focused on rock with few rap elements. His August 2018 release, Supernatural, a rap-focused album with some country elements, peaked at No. 6 on Billboard's Top Country Albums. His December 2018 album, River Rat, peaked at No. 21.
Upchurch released his first album of 2019, Creeker 2 in April. Creeker 2 featured songs such as Gassed Up, and Hillbilly Psycho along with 8 others. He would release Parachute 5 months later on September 24. This album was his first to billboard at Number One in Google Play Music and Itunes. It would climb to sixth on the actual Billboard Charts.

Hard to keep up with a wild desperado
Takin' curves at eighty mile an hour plus
Engine blocks scrapin' makin' asphalt dust
Metallic horse gallop in a hillside
Pipes echo from the trees
Shakin' as we all roll by
Moss on my roof, but only on the south side
Scootin' through my outline
I am the leader you shouldn't follow
Hard to keep up with a wild desperado
Hard to keep up with a wild desperado
Don't try to keep up with me
I live on the edge, too thin to see
I was earth bound to be a backwoods seed
On my back is where the word backwoods be
Because the backwoods never turned
It's back on me
Heart of a small town, roots of the home team
Ridin' through the city like I don't sing
Ragged old Chevy and a stained white tee
I am the leader you shouldn't follow
Hard to keep up with a wild desperado
Takin' curves at eighty mile an hour plus
Engine blocks scrapin' makin' asphalt dust
Metallic horse gallop in a hillside
Pipes echo from the trees
Shakin' as we all roll by
Moss on my roof, but only on the south side
Marks on my boots from
Scootin' through my outline
I am the leader you shouldn't follow
Hard to keep up with a wild desperado
Hard to keep up with a wild desperado
I'm a big brother, I'm a older cousin
I'm a redneck from the south
I'm a rapper, I sing country
Always two forms of buzzin' when
Takin' pictures in public
I think Waylon would be proud and Biggie
Smalls would think it's thumpin' motherfucka
Catch me cruisin' mid Ten roads
Sleepin' on the windshield from radar
Off on the five-o
Catch me downtown, wild on the rooftops
Winner circle shit sprayin' somethin'
With a cork top
I know where I'm goin'
Without knowin' where I'm goin'
Alien mind glowin', regular say mind blowin'
Wind in my hair 'cause the
Wind and road keeps flowin'
I'm one of a couple
Writin' musical components
I am the leader you shouldn't follow
Hard to keep up with a wild desperado
Takin' curves at eighty mile an hour plus
Engine blocks scrapin' makin' asphalt dust
Metallic horse gallop in a hillside
Pipes echo from the trees
Shakin' as we all roll by
Moss on my roof, but only on the south side
Marks on my boots from
Scootin' through my outline
I am the leader you shouldn't follow
Hard to keep up with a wild desperado
Hard to keep up with a wild desperado
Hard to keep up with a wild desperado

Despite any challenges they may face, such as moss on their roof or marks on their boots, they remain a hard-to-keep-up-with wild desperado.
The song captures a sense of living life on the edge and defying norms. The singer proclaims that they are difficult to keep up with, implying a level of danger and excitement. They also touch upon their rural roots, mentioning their connection to a small town and their backwoods upbringing.
