Traveling
Ups & Downs Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Traveling made me weary so one day I settled down
I walked into your life and closed the door
The good times have come and gone you say you've had enough
I'll be on the road again before too long
Did you really feel the pain of losing one so loved, or were you just a mirror
Reflecting all the pain I felt so I could see myself

There were times we had I'll never forget and times when I knew
Our differences were more than what we shared
Even though we said "I do" until death do we part
You said we'd just live for each day
And when it came to say goodbye and go our separate ways
If you had looked back you would have seen
An empty heart, a broken man who gave
That you might be free

If I see tomorrow will today be but a dream
A lesson that I did not want to learn?
Holding you... loving you seems all that I had
Wasn't ever really mine at all
Maybe I will love again when this pain sets me free
You never know, only time can tell
But when you're hurting one thing's sure nothing else is real

Traveling made me weary so one day I settled down
Walked into your life and closed my door

Thank you so much for uploading this album. I used to have it years ago but have not heard it in years. Love this song especially.

This track sounds like the guitar work of The Edge from U2 only edgier.Great Ep.Deserved to be huge.So many good Aussie bands 'The Moffs' 'The Scientists' 'The Lime Spiders' 'Other Voices' 'The Stems' etc etc (the list is almost endless) were criminally neglected for radio friendly dross. This from a time when having an alernative sound meant something.Aussie alternative pop rock carried the flag for Indie music in the early to mid 80's the live scene in Melbourne and Sydney was amazing.Long live these band's music.
