No Matter What
V.A. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

We can't get the time back
We can't stop this time bomb
So chin up wounded soldier
We set it off like Napalm
Is it raining in New Jersey?
Is this a long shot bet?
I wish that you were here to see
This West Coast sunset

cnd if I take enough deep breaths, maybe the shakes will go away. cnd if I write all my feelings down, maybe that'l ease the pain. cnd if we misapplied our morals, I guess that's a lesson learned. Now, I'm starting to realize that the world's still gonna turn no matter what

We can't run forever
We can't play pretend
Can you fall asleep at all tonight?
It's scary in my head
Some demons in the attic
Some screws loose in my brain
Our theater skipped the curtain call
The darkest of our days
Is it raining in New Jersey?
Is this a long shot bet?
I wish that you were here to see
This West Coast sunset

cnd if I take enough deep breaths, maybe the shakes will go away. cnd if I write all my feelings down, maybe that'l ease the pain. cnd if we misapplied our morals, I guess that's a lesson learned. Now, I'm starting to realize that the world's still gonna turn no matter what

I've seen this film before
I went and read the script
Yeah, there's no happy ending
Just roll the credits...
Clinically insane. c fucking basket case.
Finding morbid peace that we end up the same. Six feet deep, or burnt to ash. c nice cushion, or short on cash. I guess it all depends on who you ask. That high you chase is never coming back.
It's not coming back...

No one's listening
Please just listen

Nothing is real
Please stay right here

Overall Meaning

In the first verse of the song, the lyrics talk about how time cannot be reversed and how certain events or situations cannot be stopped, just like a ticking time bomb. The wounded soldier metaphorically represents someone who is going through a difficult time, encouraging them to keep their head up despite their struggles. "Setting off like Napalm" refers to making a powerful impact or causing a significant change. The reference to New Jersey and a long shot bet suggests uncertainty and taking risks. The longing for someone to be present for a beautiful West Coast sunset indicates a desire to share special moments with a loved one.

The second verse delves into coping mechanisms and dealing with pain. The singer suggests that taking deep breaths and writing down feelings might help alleviate the physical and emotional effects of anxiety or distress. They acknowledge that lessons can be learned from misapplying morals and realize that regardless of the challenges they face, the world will continue to turn and life will move forward.

The third verse reflects a sense of facing reality and confronting one's own demons. The singer mentions a haunted attic and screws loose in their brain, symbolizing emotional turmoil and inner struggles. The mention of a theater skipping the curtain call implies not being able to find closure or resolution during their darkest days. The repetition of the question about raining in New Jersey and the longing for someone to witness a beautiful sunset suggests a longing for connection and shared experiences.

The ending verse seems to touch upon themes of disillusionment and acceptance. The singer implies that they have seen similar situations or outcomes before and have come to understand that there is no happy ending. "Roll the credits" signifies the end of a film and implies that the story being discussed has reached its conclusion. The references to clinical insanity and being a basket case illustrate a feeling of being mentally overwhelmed or unstable. As the verse continues, the lyrics touch on mortality and different ways people can meet their end, suggesting that the outcome depends on perspective. The singer acknowledges the elusive nature of the high one chases and the fact that it may never be attained again. In the final lines, the plea for someone to listen and the mention that nothing feels real emphasizes a need for connection and reassurance in a seemingly harsh and uncertain world.

"Dubs are not a voice actor!"
Cue everybody facepalming.

Comic = no voice actors.
Comic dub = voice actors.
Movie Script = no voice actors.
Move dialougue = voice actors. (Kind of. You get my point.)

Do you see the problem, here? How did they think they were correct in saying that...?

Edit: I don't know why, but I heard a bit of Jevil when you said 'Here's five dollars, go buy yourself a light bulb! :D"
...I'unno just thought i'd include that to lighten the mood.

If your not a voice actor then no body is. You are the definition of voice actor in my eyes!

@spiderbean8342

In my eyes voice after means someone who can change there voice to a character or persons voice

@SothaSilly

Honestly, if you change the way you talk to fit a character, then you're a voice actor. Simple as that.

@Quizzique

Not true, actually. You can voice act with your normal voice. Really, in order to be a voice actor, you just have to show people your voice can fit their character and then voice the character. Boom. You're a voice actor.

@RedLeader327

Not necessarily. My normal speaking voice has landed me more roles than any of the altered voices I've done.

@thecuriousbean4674

This is like the "how digital art isint art" controversy but with voice actors
