This is so sublime, I almost forget to breathe. Even after all these years!

I've had this CD for so many years. This particular piece is one I play again and again. It expresses something exactly from the soul, restoring light and resonance to any space it's played in. I often play it in the morning. Heavier energies just disperse. Thanks for posting to youtube. I've looked for this many times.

Ry Cooder has done so much to promote World Music and once again shares his talent with an exquisite artist in V.M.Bhatt.  A jewel of a recording.

This song will forever remind me of my grandmother and bring me to tears. Certainly one of my favourite versions.

I will always, always love this song <3 I grew up listening to this. It is so, so beautiful. I love the build beginning around 1.50. I always wait and feel the lift at 4.08 onwards. So beautiful.

Wow! you have quite an ear. The sound track is great! Eddie Vedder singing with Ali Akbar Khan ? I guess. Tom Waits " Walk Away "  Steve Earl, Michelle Shocked, Springsteen's best acoustic effort. A Tabla percussionist turned me on to Bhatt and Cooder "Meeting By The River" I recognized Gabby Pahuni's song on RC and VMB and knew it had t be on the way way in the background of the film. Many great songs are way way in the background and barely noticeable unless we know it's in there, somewhere.
Have you seen Billy Bob Thorton's Sling Blade? The soundtrack is mostly Daniel Lanois or song produced by him with his very spacey reverb saturated style like with Peter Gabriel, The Neville Bros, He produced Emmy lou Harris" Wrecking Ball and Willie Nelson's Teatro in the mid 90's .
He wrote a great song called "The Maker" about the condition of man and suffering from absence of spiritual well being but with regaining hope. It is beautifully written with simple amazing sounds. Emmy Lou Harris recorded it with Spy Boy around 1995 or 1996. It can only be found on youtube or Danie lLanois with or without emmy lou.
But Spy Boy with "Blade', Buddy Green Emmy, and his Brotha' is the best. U gotta check it out if you have not done so yet. Thans for posting Meeting By the River. Check out Ali Farka Toure'  on Hannible Recs or Talking Timbuktu with Ry Cooder, Nick Lowe, Definitely African Blues. Amazing guitar work like Chinquita Six,. I Go KA.. You will love it guy. I can't help it. This made me cry. Thanks to whatever order, power, deity, or universal law helped make this possible. Thanks to the two musicians. Thanks for posting.
