Still
V Lyrics

The lyrics to V's song "Still" can be interpreted in a number of ways, but the most obvious seems to be a reflection on a relationship or a series of relationships that have gone wrong over a period of time. V seems to be looking back on these experiences with a mixture of regret and confusion, wondering how he got to this point and whether he'll ever be able to break free from the patterns that have trapped him in the past. The opening lines suggest that V is aware that he's not where he wants to be, and that the person he's addressing in the song shouldn't be there either - whether this refers to a physical location or a state of mind is unclear, but there's a sense of restlessness and unease that runs through the lyrics.
V then goes on to describe the ups and downs of the last few years, implying that he has been in a state of indecision or limbo for some time now. He wonders whether the person he's addressing is lying to him, and whether they're lying to everyone else as well. There's a sense of mistrust and betrayal here, although it's not clear whether V is accusing the other person of lying to him specifically or if this is a more general observation. There's also a hint of desperation in V's question about whether the other person can see him in the dark - he seems to want to be seen, to be acknowledged, but feels like he's invisible to the rest of the world.
The final lines of the song are perhaps the most poignant, as V wonders when he'll start working for himself and standing tall like the trees. There's a sense of self-doubt and self-criticism here, as V questions whether he's just paying for his sins and whether he'll ever be able to break free from his past mistakes. The lyrics to "Still" are full of ambiguity and open to interpretation, but they paint a vivid and emotional picture of a person struggling to come to terms with their own limitations and failures.

In the absence of illumination
You can't see me in the dark
You are unable to perceive me in the absence of light
When will I start working for me

When will I stand tall like the trees
When will I be as strong and unwavering as a tree
Am I just paying for sin
Am I suffering because of my past mistakes
