It only makes reality worse, adding to the sorrow we all feel.
They lower her down. I can still feel the warmth of her hugs and see her gentle smile.
She never was one for sad endings.
Guess it wasn't up to her.
I slam the door, sliding down to the ground grasping at my hair.
Tears like acid burn as they run down my face.
My face nothing less than hideous. I stumble like a drunken man to the
bathroom. I look at my bloodshot eyes soaked in tears. My runny nose, my cracked lips.
I've lost myself ever since she has been gone.
She took care of me, loved me, reminded me that every single day was
precious and that people out there loved me.
I didn't realize how bad she hurt.
Her cuts and bruises I saw on her arms and legs. I truly believed she was
clumsy, how else would she get cuts like those?

people were waiting with sticks and stones to
throw. Only when I saw you, lying sleepily on the floor that day did I
realize I should have known.
The signs were there.
I chose to ignore them, pretending that I had it worse.
Now, who has it worse? You. It was always you.

She ended her life that day.
My epiphany came a little too late.
My best friend is gone, and I guess there's nothing more to say.

It makes me feel glad to be alive. It compels me to share moments like this with another. My time is limited. Like the perfect day that stretches and seems to last forever.. no matter how hard I wish for that day to last, it won't. Time moves on and it will always keep on.
So as that day keeps growing shorter, I've learned to enjoy it as much as possible instead of stressing over it's inevitable end. Life is what you make it. Happiness is a state of mind. Let go of your worries and be free to actually live your life the way you want.
