VALSHE Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

君が作ってきたWISHLIST(リスト)の中に
僕が作ってきたWISHLIST(リスト)の中で

君が作ってきたWISHLIST(リスト)の中に

Overall Meaning

The song "WISHLIST" by VALSHE starts off with the unease of the singer towards someone's pretentious behavior that rubs them the wrong way. The singer then talks about how their wishes for their future have been bought cheaply and they are now surrounded by a framework that has caused a market crash. The singer advises to note down everything the influential people say about the market crash. The singer talks about how the excessive expectation and possibilities that they had has been shattered by the market crash, and questions the purpose of holding onto such hope.

The singer then questions whose benefit the things on their wishlist are serving, as they realize that there isn't anything they really need or want on it. The pretentious people who claim to know the methods for success have nothing significant to offer, and excuses that sound convincing rarely hold any water. The singer says that they've gotten caught up in something that's like a troublesome cold and states that items that crave to make life easier aren't going to help in this era of difficult living. The singer emphasizes that the things that we crave is only valuable as much as we crave for it in a time that’s fleeting, and questions again who the wishlist is for when it comes to finding happiness.

The song offers a critique on the culture of consumerism where people constantly want more and are always influenced by external factors. VALSHE is urging listeners to think deeper and to question the purpose of their desire for certain things. In a world where people are always grading themselves with the success or possession they have, "WISHLIST" by VALSHE asks us to take a step back and consider what really matters.
