The barely acceptable truth of knowing
Valensia Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Violet enigma poetry
Alive in a veil of secrecy
the mystery in me
voids the inquisitions overseas

Rendez-vous on earth some where in time
why, and where you came from:
undefined
Moon over your soul
silhouettes in disguise grow old

The truth of knowing of it all
is almost unacceptable
the roaring silence within
the menace of the crowded void

Alive!
And we’re a child in time
Livin’ it over and over
Alive!
we climb the stairway of time
Givin’ it over and over
Alive!

Pass a saffron membrane open wide
and fly in chrysanthemum delight
speak, sanhedralite,
of phoenix incarnations to arise, arise

The savour of an aeons’ gloriole:
a sigh for the kosmos on the whole
colourfusion glows
a macro cosmic kiss is all she knows

the truth of knowing of it all
is almost unacceptable
the roaring silence within
the menace of the crowded void

Alive!
and we’re a child in time
Livin’ it over and over
Alive!
we climb the stairway of time
Givin’ it over and over

Don dee don- don, bells are ringing out
Don dee don- don, for my baby now

Alive!
and we’re a child in time
Livin’ it over and over
Alive!
we climb the stairway of time

Givin’ it over and over
Alive!

Overall Meaning

"Violet enigma poetry" starts off the song, and immediately we're given a glimpse of how Valensia views life. To him, life is in many ways a mystery, a veil of secrecy that keeps us from knowing everything there is to know. He also seems to reject the idea of asking too many questions, describing how "[t]he mystery in me/voids inquisitions overseas". In other words, he doesn't need someone else to explain life to him; he's content to take it on his own terms.

As the song progresses, Valensia talks about our place in the universe. He uses phrases like "rendez-vous on earth" and "moon over your soul" to suggest a sense of cosmic importance. At the same time, he acknowledges that we don't always understand where we came from or why we're here. However, the truth of knowing all there is to know is "almost unacceptable", given the "menace of the crowded void". In other words, knowing everything might be too much for us to handle.

The song ends with the repetition of the phrase "alive!" This could be seen as a reminder that, for all the mystery and confusion of life, we're still here, still alive, and still able to experience everything the world has to offer. The final phrase, "bells are ringing out for my baby now", suggests a sense of celebration or joy, as if Valensia is embracing life with all its uncertainties and mysteries.
