The music is a mixture of singersongwriter, indiepop, country and has some psychedelic elements. It's warm, intimate, sincere and melancholic.
Three albums have been released so far. All of them recieved, without exception, very good reviews in the media and airplay on national and local radiostations.
Bert, the only regular member of Velvet Sea has played in several bands with different styles: indie pop/rock (Soaptrip, Drive Cooler), postrock (Blue Bungalows) and stonerpunk (Tetna Shot).
His current band is an alternative guitarpoprock/country/singersong band named Breitner.

There is no proper way to grieve. But this song always brings nonstop tears to my eyes and I just let them fall….I lost my 17 year old brother little less than a month ago to a car accident. I want to remind everyone that seatbelts are very important and will keep you alive. The line that says “ I know it’s a part of life but I wasn’t ready to say goodbye” hits me the hardest. But the lines “ I miss my best friend “ how you were taken way to soon and it ain’t the same here without you.” Also hit me. I just love thins song even tho my brain relates it to my brother….
