Often abbreviated to "Vsnares" – Funk's distinctive style reflects unconventional time signatures and extremely rapid and erratic rhythms. Unpredictable and stimulating, the effect is intense.
Funk's first release was "Greg Hates Car Culture", an EP for the History Of The Future Label, followed by "Salt" for Zhark and "Fuck Canada // Fuck America" with Stunt Rock for CLFST. When Mike Paradinas heard "Greg Hates Car Culture", he immediately signed Funk for Planet µ. Prior to this, he self-released material on cassette tape as early as 1992.
The first Venetian Snares LP on Planet µ "Making Orange Things" (a co-production with Speedranch), dropped in early 2001; following in short order were 5 more releases, all released before the end of 2002. Funk continued recording for a variety of labels, including Hymen, Addict, and Sublight Records, and has also recorded as snares, Snares Man!, BeeSnares, Ventriloquist Snakes, Puff, Last Step and Senetian Vnares.

Chaque jour,chaque heure
M'avancer vers cette falaise
Et vers ce grand trou sans fond
Je me retourne souvent
Et j'aperçois
Tres loin
Le brouillard de ma naissance
Je suis le nomade
Qui marche la nuit
Et qui attend le jour
Et l'oubli...

Tnaslation (From French):
I haven't finished hoping
Infallible like a spider
I watch for the future
Towards my daily web
The joys of the evening and the morning
That escape at top speed
Too bad for the sorrows, the pains, and the irritations
That pass slowly
And hook themselves
Yes, but that is it; I know that I must
Each day, each hour
Advance towards that cliff
And towards that bottomless pit
I return often
And notice
Very far away
The fog of my birth
I am the nomad
Who walks the night
And who waits for day
And forgets it.....
The lyrics of Venetian Snares's song "Tache" portray a sense of unyielding hope that is coupled with a melancholic awareness of our inevitable descent towards the abyss of the unknown. The singer, who likens himself to a spider that continues to spin its web tirelessly, reflects upon the fleeting nature of happiness, as it passes by at the speed of light, while the sorrows, pains and irritations of life seem to linger on and bog us down. However, in spite of this, the singer is determined to keep moving forward towards the cliff of uncertainty that looms over him, a chasm of infinity that appears to be both daunting and alluring at the same time. As he marches forward, he looks back to notice the fog of his birth, a metaphor for the murky and distant past that continues to influence his journey. The singer ultimately comes across as a wanderer, journeying through the darkness of the night and waiting for the dawn to arrive and help him forget his fears.
In essence, the lyrics of "Tache" paints a portrait of a person who is infused with a sense of hope in the face of adversity, even as he confronts the harshness of life head-on. The song appears to be urging us to continue striving forward towards our goals, regardless of the challenges we face along the way. It is a reminder that life is both beautiful and fragile, but that it is the hope within us that can help us overcome the most insurmountable of obstacles.

I try a full translation :
I haven't finished hoping
relentless like a vigilant spider
I watch out, to catch in my daily web
joys of the evening and the morning
that flee at full speed,
Don't mind griefs, pains and annoyances
that fade slowly and cling
Yes, but anyway, I know that I must, each day, each hour
move towards this cliff and towards this big bottomless hole
I often turn back, and catch sight of the, very far, mist of my birth
I am the nomad who walks at night
Waiting for the day and forgetfulness

@a name "l'oubli" here is a noun not a verb.. (i'm french).. it's "the state of having forgotten" or "the lack of memory" (there's no direct translation)

@escalatedescent - i agree this track is on the top of the "music chain" for many reasons, but that doesnt automatically deny the fact that house has its gems too (take a listen to Deck the house by Akufen)

I just can't understand how this doesn't have 20 million views. It doesn't make any sense.
