Take It Or Leave It
Vengeance Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You've Got The Money I Role The Dice
Come On Take A Chance
Don't Worry Honey Don't Think Twice
You've Got To Take The Chance

You Stake The Bets I Turn The Wheel
The Feeling Is Right
There'll Be No Regrets The Oods Are Ideal
You're Gonna Win Tonight

Now It's Time To Say Goodbye
To All Your Friends
I'm Gonna Take You On A Trip
That Never Ends

Take It Or Leave It
I'm Giving You A Choice
Take It Or Leave It
Don't Listen To The Boys

You Name The Price I Deal The Cards
The Winner Takes It All
Don't Be Surprised If I Call The Guards
You're Heading For A Fall

Now It's Time To Say Goodbye
To All Our Friends
I'm Gonna Take You On A Trip
That Never Ends

Take It Or Leave It
I'm Giving You A Choice

Take It Or Leave It
Don't Listen To The Boys

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song Take It Or Leave It by Vengeance revolve around gambling and the risks one takes to win. The opening line "You’ve got the money, I roll the dice" refers to the classic game of chance where money is at stake. The chorus "Take it or leave it, I'm giving you a choice" gives the impression that the person singing is offering their partner an ultimatum, saying that they either take a chance on winning or leave it altogether.

The second verse repeats the theme of gambling as the stakes are raised higher. The lyrics "You stake the bets, I turn the wheel" and "the odds are ideal, you’re gonna win tonight" suggest that the game is going in their favor. In the third verse, the tone quickly shifts as the person singing warns their partner that they may be heading for a fall. The lyrics "don’t be surprised if I call the guards" implies that there may be deception involved in the game.

The song has a fast-paced, upbeat tempo that matches the intensity of the gambling metaphor. The chorus is catchy and inviting, inviting the listener to take a chance. The lyrics of the song can also be interpreted as a metaphor for taking risks in life, and the consequences that follow.

awesome players with monumental metal sound !

@KrasMazovHatesYourGuts

This is some great stuff. It's hard to believe though that such a straightforward and unambitious band featured Arjen Lucassen, one of the most ambitious prog rock/metal musicians to ever exist. (Seriously, listen to the rest of the songs on this, and then listen to the instrumental 'Engines'. It's like night and day, isn't it?)

@mariogatino548
